Earlier this year, Nintendo started the New Play Control series, which brings classic Gamecube games to the Nintendo Wii with several enhancements. The first three titles were Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin. Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes were also planned. Instead of releasing those two titles as individual New Play Control games, Nintendo is bundling them along with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in a special package called Metroid Prime Trilogy. Here are a few reasons why you should buy the upcoming Nintendo Wii game.

Widescreen Support
Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes are two of the best-looking games on the Gamecube. The games still hold up well today even when compared to other Nintendo Wii titles. This is due mostly to the great art style which brought the rich Metroid universe to life. The Nintendo Wii ports provide widescreen support for the two already excellent looking titles. Now with the superior aspect ratio, Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes has never looked better than in Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Unlockables
Trophies and Achievements has been all the rage on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately, Nintendo is foregoing a universal rewards system for the Nintendo Wii. That doesn't mean developers can't still make their own, however. That is exactly what developer Retro Studios did in Metroid Prime Trilogy. Given your performance in certain stages, the games will give you points to use for unlocking music, artwork, modes and other content. Unlockables should give plenty of replay value to Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Special Bonuses
Nintendo is going all-out for Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Nintendo Wii. After all, it is one of the highest-rated and best-selling series Nintendo has ever produced. Not all the extras come are built within the games, however. Those who pre-order Metroid Prime Trilogy will get several physical bonuses which includes a collectible tin, t-shirt, poster. In more ways than one, Metroid Prime Trilogy is the ultimate tribute to Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Three Classic Titles for Price of One
Finally, Metroid Prime Trilogy only costs $49.99. This is quite a bargain considering that a New Play Control title usually retails for $29.99 each while Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is still being sold at $49.99 in some retailers. For Metroid Prime Trilogy, you will get enhance versions of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in addition to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption all on one disc. You won't find a better bargain on the Nintendo Wii than Metroid Prime Trilogy.
