Why Buying "Veggie Tales" Products is Still a Good Idea

Genious Lives On

With all the children's products on the market why is buying "Veggie Tales" products still a good idea? You can probably count on one hand the number of cartoon type shows and characters that have survived in the minds of kids and families. So, how is it that after years on the market "Veggie Tales" continues to survive and grow in popularity. There has to be a reason why a product that seems to center on vegetables can be such a cross culture success. There is a reason, in fact there are at least four reasons why buying " Veggie Tales" products is still a good idea.

According to on line sources "Veggie Tales" came out of the creative brain of one Paul Vischer who worked for a larger entertainment company called "Big Ideas". " Veggie Tales" certainly justifies the name of the larger company because since its Early days in 1993 "Veggie Tales" has filled all the qualifications for being a truly big idea in the entertainment world. These same qualifications have allowed "Veggie Tales" to survive over the years.

First "Veggie Tales" centers its shows, movies, record albums and other creative products on, that 's right, vegetables. Character creation surely doesn't get more basic than that. While basic it might be, the idea of using vegetable characters seemed to spark interest in audiences because it was such a unique approach. After all, children's shows already abound in fuzzy and cuddly animal and monster types, but the world of adorable and amusing vegetables just hadn't arrived until "Veggie Tales" crashed the market in the first year of production with 130,000 copies sold. According to sources at music.aol, by 2001 sales of "Veggie Tales" videos had risen to 20 million. The unique approach taken by " Veggie Tales" creators had hit the spot with consumers.

Among those who purchase "Veggie Tales" productions, one finds a wide diversity of back grounds and interests and this is a second reason why buying "Veggie Tales" products is still a good idea. Religious education leaders make up a large corner of the "Veggie Tales" market for sure. But helping the "Veggie Tale" items to disappear from the shelves are also parents coming from many different religious backgrounds and some who simply want their children to enjoy quality, value laden entertainment instead of some of what passes for children's shows on network television. What broadens the market even more is the appeal that "Veggie Tales" productions seem to have across the ages. "Veggie Tales" can be enjoyed by pre-schoolers of course, but they also seem to tug at the better selves of older children and teens as well.

What appeals to children and often adults as well is in part the pure artistry of the productions themselves. The outrageous combinations of common words, the silly, though meaningful arrangement of plots and the insertion of lovable, if surprising, characters like "Bob" and "Larry " can't help but make a person smile and ask for more.

Perhaps the bottom line is that buying "Veggie Tales" products remains a good idea simply because of the messages they continue to share. These amusing, colorful, even goofy characters don't appear before us for nothing. While they might portray the "pirates who don't do anything" it turns out "Veggie Tales" are packed to the brim with wonderful spiritual and moral lessons that are delivered in a highly palatable, downright enjoyable package, a package that still sells well, is used widely and has already made a positive imprint on a whole generation of viewers. Good message in a good package, do your really have to wonder why buying "Veggie Tales" products is still a good idea?
