What does Computrace Do?
Computrace is software that was created to be installed onto your computer. Once downloaded, it works as a small tracking device that can always determine your computer's whereabouts, and can even keep track of activity on your computer. So for example, if someone takes your computer out of your room, you can easily track down where it is traveling. Also, if you have a roommate who you suspect is using your computer maliciously; you can review Computrace's records to determine exactly what type of activity occurs on your PC or laptop when you're not around.
Why Computrace?
Computrace is sure that they are the company you should trust to keep track of your computer because they have experience with both keeping an eye on your system, and actually recovering it. They say, because there is a 1 in 10 chance that your computer will be stolen, it is important to make sure that you take the necessary precautions to keep a watchful eye over it - and they are the company to help you. In short, if you work with Computrace to secure your PC or laptop, they say they can guarantee you the peace of mind you've been hoping for.
What Happens if My Computer is Stolen?
If a time comes that your computer is actually taken from your possession, a number of steps will immediately take place. First, it will set of its silent alarm that will notify the Monitoring Center of the theft. Next, they will communicate with you to let you know what has happened, and send the Recovery Team to work in conjunction with law enforcement to retrieve your computer. At the same time that the Recovery Team is tracking your computer, you will be able to do the same if you have access to another PC, by logging onto their website. There you can actually watch where your computer is traveling.
Computrace allots themselves 30 days to locate your computer and return it to you. If they are unable to do so within the 30-day period, you will be given a full refund for the purchase price of the software, as well as a refund equated to 90 percent of the depreciated value of your computer up to $1,000.
Of course, like most other products, there are some restrictions that you must consider with their products. So take time to learn about all of the ins and outs before spending your money. But if you find that all of the small details of thier service work in your favor, then you might want to consider bringing home Computrace as your computer's new best friend.
