With the help of the Ohio Virtual Academy, Ohio students are offered a new type of learning experience. The Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) is just one of many virtual schools popping up all over the country. It was named the best performing e-school in Ohio for the 4th year in a row by The Ohio Department of Education and is one in a handful of schools in the Cleveland area alone that have reached the effective level in the State of Ohio Proficiency Testing.

This online school is composed of 71 certified teachers, 6 school managers and 4 school administrators. Each teacher plays an a very important roll in the school's success. In addition to general education teachers, special education and Title I teachers are also available to assist in the online learning process. Guidance counselors and placement advisors are also on hand to help when needed. The average instructor has 8 - 12 years of public teaching experience. The heads of this online school also hold a very impressive resume, each having between 18 - 35 years of experience and most having an MBA's or PhD.

The learning experience in a virtual classroom may be unlike any other. These classrooms have no wall's and the limitations are endless. Each student is tested and the curriculum provided is tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual student. The selection of classes are plentiful and interesting. Your 1st grader may be able to study French, German, Latin or Spanish. While your 10th grader can participate in Advanced Placement curriculum and be on the Debate Team. The school administrators and placement counselors watch closely to make sure each student is on track and is inline to meet the State of Ohio's curriculum requirements for graduation. Because, OHVA is considered a State of Ohio Public Charter School the students attending are required to take the Standardized Ohio Achievement Test. This test is administered at various testing locations all over the state of Ohio.

At what cost is this provided? You may be happy to know that this online school is free to all students in the state of Ohio. Each family will be loaned a complete computer system. The computer, printer, software and internet connection are all provided. All textbooks and learning materials are also provided to the student at no cost. The parent is responsible for providing the ink cartridge replacement, printer paper and the cost of standard school supplies. Such as pen, pencils, notebook paper, etc.

    I found several grammatical errors on your page. I would expect that there would be no errors, since you are promoting education. For example, endless limitations? How is that a positive element? And in pajamas.... their, not "there". There are other errors, please correct your page!
