The problem is that people treat spells like recipes, and they expect them to work like a recipe. The expectation is that you put a pinch of this and a dash of that into a cauldron, light a candle, say a few words, and poof! Instant gratification!
Spells don't quite work like that, but let's go with the recipe analogy for a moment. Let's say I gave you a recipe for chili. I instruct you to saute onions and peppers in a skillet, to combine them with beans, tomatoes and seasonings, and set it on a low flame for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. That would probably work fine for you if you know your way at all around a kitchen.
But what if you were from another planet that didn't have kitchens? What if you had no idea what a skillet was? What if you've never even seen a stove because you get your nourishment from vitamin tablets, so you don't know how to work one? What if you couldn't tell a chili pepper from a banana? What if you don't even know what chili is supposed to look like or taste like? If this is the case, then before you could even follow the recipe, you'd have a good deal of learning to do and a lot of questions that would need answers.
Likewise, if you want to cast spells, you can't simply pull one up from a random book or website and expect success. You first need to learn about magic. Spells don't work because of the props you use, or your ingredients, or the words you say. They work when you understand the principles of magic, when you know what you're doing and why you are doing it. They work when you have learned to meditate and have disciplined your mind in order to alter your state of consciousness at will and to raise and focus your energy.
Real magic is nothing like you see on popular television shows or read about in fantasy fiction books. If it were that easy for everyone to obtain whatever they desire, then everyone would simply twitch their noses and there would be no room for skepticism.
Real magic is an art that requires years of study, practice and training for one to become adept at it. The results of magic are often more subtle and work completely within nature, rather than against it. Assuming you can simply read a few instructions on the internet and get results when you know little to nothing about it is like assuming that you can read a how-to article and build your own space shuttle without knowing anything about engineering or mechanics. It's not a hobby that one can dabble in and expect to get anything out of it. At best, you'll achieve nothing and be disappointed. At worst, mistakes could be disastrous.
If you're serious about learning to practice magic, walk before you try to fly. Begin by studying. If you feel it isn't worth your time and energy, do yourself a favor and find another way to achieve your goals.

Post a CommentI'm always unlucky and I know people who are always lucky - no exaggeration. Everything I try is guaranteed to fail, yet the lucky people I know are unusually lucky.
I wish I could just rid the evil "thing" out of me, that's all. Not being greedy wanting my bad luck to go away.
