Why Are Dead Sea Salts So Special?
The Reasoning Behind Dead Sea Salt's Fame and Price Tag, and What it Can Do for Your Skin!
The famous Dead Sea between Israel and Jordan contains some of the highest salt concentrations in a body of water. While the ocean has an average salinity of around 3%, the Dead Sea has a steady salinity of over 33%. This concentration of minerals causes the salts harvested from the Dead Sea to have more goodies packed into each natural grain. Also, while sodium compromises most of what's in regular sea salt, Dead Sea salt contains only 10% sodium. The rest is natural minerals.
You can't ingest salts from the Dead Sea, and the Dead Sea is a wasteland to any life that normally survives in the sea. Even though the habitat of the Dead Sea itself is so hostile to life, the value of the minerals found in it are irreplaceable in the world of skincare. Like most of the salts found in the world's oceans, you can find sodium, magnesium, bromine, potassium, and calcium. These concentrations are naturally higher in salts harvested from the Dead Sea.
Salts from the Dead Sea have been known to cure many different types of conditions - from problems with your skin, to problems with joints and muscles. Dead Sea salts have been used as a cure for muscle tension, arthritis, muscle spasms, menstrual and muscle related cramps, tendinitis, and freezing or locking joints. Using Dead Sea salts can also cure skin problems like psoriasis and cellulite, as well as cure people's weaknesses to many allergens.
Not only are Dead Sea salts excellent for your skin's health, they are great for it's appearance too. Dead Sea salts leave your skin exfoliated, removing the layer of dead skin cells from the surface and leaving you with smooth, refreshed skin underneath. Your skin will also feel a lot tighter, firmer, and younger!
It's easy to see why Dead Sea salts are so popular, and it's a little better to understand why many of the popular, high end products that contain real Dead Sea salts are so expensive. Even though it might be impossible to keep buying products made with real Dead Sea salts to keep in your home, you can still use them very often to keep your skin and muscles healthy!
There are many specialty stores that sell Dead Sea salts alone, and there are also places online that you can find them too. Just add some Dead Sea salts from your stash in with some regular sea salt, and toss into your bath tub for the ultimate spa treatment!
