Why Did God Create Us?

TinaLynnLove
We have all heard the stories about Adam and Eve, the first human creation on earth. But all too often, we neglect to find out the reason or the purpose for creation. I believe that not having this awareness, leaves us empty and void of any real value in life. We may even begin to see things as meaningless. So let's take a walk down history and uncover some truths in God's plan for us. Only then can we appreciate the journey He's allowed us to travel and highlight the footsteps that lead us to His will.

In the Beginning God Created....

Genesis 1:1. It says that God created the heavens and the earth, implying that the heavens were created first. And God's heavenly realm to house Himself as well as His servants (angels). So was God lonely? Did He just long for companionship amist His heavenly dwelling? I don't feel this to be the case. In fact, the act of creating us makes up the essence of who He is: Creator. He forms, molds, builds, and puts things into action. Once He finished forming the Heavens, He desired a creation that housed His DNA. He wanted His stamp of approval, His reflection to be mirrored and photographed inside of what He formed next, man. And just like His heavenly realm, He knew man needed a dwelling place as well. He called it earth. God's decision to make man in His own image (Genesis 1:27) as well as breathing life or His Spirit into man (Genesis 2:7) illustrates man's ability to govern, create, think, experience emotions, as well as make decisions (or invoke will) while in his defined domain.

So How Were Things Supposed to Be?

God created us to govern the properties of earth while honoring Him as our Father. The author to our story and the pencil to our sketch. Because we're made in His image and not necessarily in His make up, He knew that we'd be forever dependant on Him like a small child would a parent. He also knew that along with our status and positioning comes testing. Evil introduced itself to us and, for whatever reason why, God allowed it to enter our domain. Its purpose clearly deeply rooted. Instead of consulting God about what the enemy portaryed as good, we ate the lie inside our spirit before the outward manifestation of eating the apple (disobedience) took place. Satan studied us like we study for our careers. He memorized our mannerisms, our emotions, our actions, our relationship with God as well as the animals and concocted a plan to separate us from our position on earth and from our relationship with God. From the moment we chose deliberate disobedience, God the Creator, placed into action a plan that would get us back in right standing with Him and in proper position in the earth.

How Should We Adjust Our Lives To This?

This information should rock our lives in way that changes our minds and attitudes regarding God's gift of love and purpose. We need to be excited about His promise of destiny. We were created for Him which means we're not here by luck or chance. Our conception was not an accident or a mistake. The world makes it so easy to lose sight on why we are really here. Let's begin to honor Him in every gift He's provided for us and live in a way that proves our gratitude.
