Why Did the GOP Deny 911 First Responders Benefits?

Thank You Alexander Bolton and Jason Millman for Letting Us Know that the Senate GOP Filibustered 911 First Responders

According to the following excerpt from an article by Alexander Bolton and Jason Millman Republicans fillibustered again.
"Senate Republicans on Thursday morning filibustered legislation to monitor and treat first responders and emergency workers who suffered illnesses related to 9/11.A vote to quash the filibuster failed by a vote of 57 to 42, three votes short of the necessary threshold. As a result, the proposal is unlikely to pass this year."

"The bill would provide funding for a health program to treat first responders, construction and cleanup workers and residents who inhaled toxic particles after the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. The $7.4 billion cost of the legislation over 10 years is paid for by a provision that would prevent foreign multinational corporations from using tax havens to avoid taxes on U.S. income."

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) blasted Republicans after the vote."Republicans denied adequate health care to the heroes who developed illnesses from rushing into burning buildings on 9/11. Yet they will stop at nothing to give tax breaks to millionaires and CEOs, even though they will explode our deficit and fail to create jobs. That tells you everything you need to know about their priorities," Reid said in a statement."

"The International Association of Firefighters, the National Association of Police Organizations, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association and the AFL-CIO union, among other organizations, support the legislation.Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), one of the bill's co-sponsors, made an impassioned plea before the vote to bring it up for consideration." Health Watch article by Alexander Bolton and Jason Millman

According to this writer many millions of lives have been saved throughout this country by First Responders no matter their job position or illness each and everyday. The 911 first responders were the ones immediately there in one of the worse days in American history. Why on earth would the GOP deny them benefits? Anyone and everyone in this country who believes in doing the right thing after our enemies tried to kill anyone in 911 should stop the GOP from keeping benefits from first responders.

It does not make sense that first responders risk their life and health to assist and save those tragically trapped and injured at 911.

Who in their right mind would not want to help the 911 first responders whoever they are? It does not matter what job they performed. But what does matter is they were the first responders and are now in need of health benefits. How can anyone live with themselves and not give benefits to them when they put their own lives on the line to clean up, make the areas safe for everyone. Where were the GOP on 911? Did they show up as first responders? Please everyone help these 911 First responders get the help and benefits. All races, cultures, religions responding to help everyone at the 911 tragedy please let us all pull together and let the GOP that they do not over rule American citizens rights to benefits, it is unthinkable not to give them benefits.

We all must just think if out of no where planes hit your work site and no 911 First Responders came to save you; what a horrifying thought it would be in this great U.S. A. if we had no First Responders. Americans please help 911 responders. We salute Health Watch for this article by Bolton and Millman.
