Some liberals want our president punished for lying (reasons for war in Iraq) when it's been proven he did not, but opposed Saddam Hussein being penalized for lying and breaking 17 U.N. resolutions. Also keep in mind that many liberals ignore or excuse away their own political heroes who made numerous comments about Saddam and the threat of WMD's, years before President Bush was even in office. When it was President Clinton making the statements, liberals supported and believed him, but when a Republican President stands by those original statements, he is attacked and labeled a liar, which is ironic considering who his impeached predecessor is.
Moving on:
Some liberals highlight the victories of our enemies (whom they refer to as freedom fighters) in the war and ignore all the United States victories that are achieved.
They want to take money from the people (government programs) and oppose giving money back to people (tax rebates) and they believe we are not smart enough to control our own lives; there needs to be a government program for every thing, and they feel generous when they let us keep a part of what we earn.
They believe we are not responsible for anything that happens in our lives, i.e., it is always someone else's fault, even when we cause the problem by our own thoughtless, irresponsible acts.
They support killing disabled people (Terri Schindler Schiavo) and babies (abortion), but are opposed to killing our enemies (Iraq War) and serial murderers (the death penalty).
They support those who say our middle-school kids cannot have an aspirin, but they are given condoms and can have an abortion without their parents' permission.
...Everyone in this country has the right to not be offended by anything, unless you are white, Christian, patriotic, or conservative, and if you are all of those, you are the bane of humanity and need to be silenced.
They look up to and praise the actions of those that oppose us (Cuba, France, U.N.), while ignoring or degrading our allies (Spain, New Iraqi government, U.K.) by calling them "puppets" or the "coalition of the bribed."
They make false claims against the opposing party to win an election (CBS documents scandal) and the eventual clearing of a Republican is never reported with the same force and hysterics as the initial accusation.
When they lose an election (2000 and 2004 presidential election), they try and change the rules after the fact, and/or falsely claim voter fraud, but if voter fraud points back to them as in the case of the 2004 Governorship Election for the State of Washington in which Republican Dino Rossi was certified as legitimately winning, and even won a recount, only to lose to Democratic Christine Gregoire after a hand recount, when mystery votes began showing up all over King County, along with precincts that had more votes cast than registered voters. It should also be mentioned that illegal votes stood at well over several hundred. Polling demonstrated that more than 65% of Washington voters believed that Dino Rossi legitimately won the election and that it was stolen from him. However, for all the indignation when liberals lose, 'voter fraud' is okay so long as the outcome swings their way.
Many liberals loathe SUV's and gas guzzling cars and demonize them but take a look at what many of them drive, most notably liberal politicians and Hollywood celebrities who preach to the 'little people' about cutting back but refuse to do so themselves; even Al Gore who is not as 'green' as he would like people to believe and consumes far more resources than the average American.
Many liberals talk about FOX news and their unproven bias but are too blind or too happy to own every other media outlet, which they claim has no partiality, despite countless facts and 'incidents' to the contrary.
Many liberals state themselves to be tolerant but reveal themselves to be the exact opposite.
Ask some liberals about Christianity and they'll attack an entire group of being fundie right wingers who want to pass judgment on everyone, never mind the judgment they themselves espouse. Then ask about Muslim's and they'll say how we need to be open-minded and not lump them all together based on the actions of the extremists.
They talk about how the right is racist and yet they have a KKK member in the senate and their own party was against ending slavery and they fought against integration of the schools; including the fact that they resisted the Civil rights during President Kennedy's time. They've done more to divide Americans into classes than anyone, ever. Their party claims to represent minorities when it was a Republican who chose the first woman for the SCOTUS. Today, when a Republican appoints Blacks to high level positions, they are called Uncle Toms but when the Democrats appoint Blacks to low level positions, they are showing their generous support of them. President Bush's cabinet is the most diverse in history, far surpassing Bill Clinton's, and yet, Bill Clinton is considered to be the first Black President.
The irony astounds me when liberals describe Republicans and President Bush as Nazis when the Nazis were the National Socialist Party. Their big government controlled the media, who championed their policies (sounds familiar, does it not?). Their opponents went to concentration camps or were murdered. They nationalized industry, health care, education, and child rearing. They eliminated synagogues first and planned the eradication of churches. They took away private ownership of guns and committed genocide on a mass scale, encouraged abortion, and developed slave labor, and lest we forget, they looted like crazy.
How in the world does that compare to our present administration, who believe in free speech, democracy, an ownership society, the ability to bear arms, the imperfection of government and man, dignity for all peoples, the right to life for unborn children and a belief in God? Why is the press allowed to slice and dice President Bush at will with little opposition and anger from him? Why aren't dissenters lined up against the wall and shot? To sum it up, the Bush is Hitler tune is so old the bones have developed into fossils and liberals better look for a more accurate way to accuse and name call.
There are many more but these are mere examples of their pretense and why I, an American Indian woman in my 30's, choose to disagree with them.

Nice work, my son is going to use this article in a paper for school.
Jeff Musall also maintains that liberals strive for fair elections. Again... are you kidding me? I guess that would explain the slashed tires of GOP election vehicles in 2004. And all those military ballots (military generally vote Republican) in 2000 that Democrats did not want to have counted. I wrote an editorial just before the 2006 election predicting that if Dems win, there would not be charges of election fraud, and if they lost, there would be tons of charges. Guess what Jeff? First time in three elections that the Dems sat grinning instead of claiming fraud. My guess is, they didn't care at all if there was fraud as long as it benefited them. What unbelievable arrogance!
Interesting that Jeff Musall expects you to prove a negative, as in "where is the 'proof' that Bush did not lie." Are you kidding me? That reminds me of tabloid journalism. You can say anything you want and then dare someone to prove it isn't true, rather than taking the ethical way of proving it is true. By the way Jeff, even if Bush was wrong, a lie requires intention to deceive, not merely forming incorrect conclusions. But why bother with accuracy?
I agree 100% Terri was murdered. Her so called "husband" who went off and found another woman and had kids with her makes me sick. I think he just wanted rid of her. He didn't love her. It breaks my heart that she did respond at times to her parents, but no one seemed to do anything about it. Her husband will rot in Hell, there's no doubt about it.
You're right on some of this, but I'm going to start with something you missed: Terri Schiavo was not "disabled." Terri Schiavo was in a "nonresponsive persistnent vegetative state," which requires a feeding tube. Do not offend disabled people by confusing the two. The guy with legal authority went through the courts and said she didn't want a feeding tube. The courts ruled he was speaking on her behalf. Feeding tube removed. Nobody killed her. Nobody supported killing her. What was held up by a conservative southern court was her wishes and the rule of law in the United States. If you like marriage, the rule of law, and personal freedom, that case turned out perfectly. Similar things happen in almost every county in America on a daily basis and they have nothing to do with "liberals" killing people.
Great job again.... brave and honest! You don't disappoint!!! :)
Donna, Nice article. I think it points out too well that the nation has become so polarized we have forgotten to discuss the differences that once made this a great Nation. I find it more than a bit ironic that the same media/liberals who compared the Bush government to Hitler are offended when Hugo Chavez calls him Satan. I don't think we need other national leaders talking like that about our president, but it seems to me, maybe some of our own people need to clean up their mouths before whining about Chavez.
First, Donna, thank you also...However, I must put foward a couple of things..first, where is the "proof" that Bush did not lie, and what are the "17" broken resolutions? If you are gonna throw it out there, give me something to back it up..and while you are wrong on many of your assumptions about liberals, you are spot-on with your first assertion-forcing games of naked twister- while it I would add that it is becoming obvious that far more than just that went on, it's beside the point-that IS WORSE than our soldiers being mistreated, because some of us still hold the ideal that the United States is supposed to stand for something more...
Boy, oh, boy, will the liberals jump all over you! Well said, native daughter, well said.
