Why Ebay Affiliates Make More Money

Guy Siverson
Believe it or not, affiliates do indeed make money. It may be true that there are more affiliates that have never made a dime than those that make money but that does not remove the fact that you can profit from being an affiliate marketer.

See, the issue is not if affiliates make money but rather if you are going to learn how to be one of those who rake in the dough rather than profit not.

With that said let's look at why Ebay affiliates make more money.

First, which of the following is a search engine?

  • Google.com
  • Ask.com
  • Dogpile.com

Most people would probably not hesitate to respond with the answer of Google. However, the above was a trick question as it is the truth that all 3 are actually search engines. The only difference is that Google is better known than the other two.

Such is the case with Ebay advertisements.

When web surfers see that an ad points to Ebay they generally will see that ad and consequently the entire Website as being more credible. That is as long as they have not had a bad experience with Ebay, which adversely colors their point of view.

Bottom line: branding your ads to well known systems will help you generate more sales from your advertising efforts.

People also make money with Ebay because people know they can generally by the same product for less due to the auctions that are held on Ebay. Of course, this may not always be the case, just as people sometimes pay more for items in off-line auctions. But conceptually speaking it is generally thought that you can save money because of Ebay auctions.

Ebay affiliate marketers also have more tools at their disposal than those that do not use Ebay. Of course, this is not always the case, but overall most people do not provide a vast array of widgets, banners and the rest to help their affiliates succeed. Ebay does. Not only that but last I checked you could actually make money from new accounts that sign up because of your link that led them to Ebay.

I'm not sure if that is still the case today, but if it is making money from new sign-ups is indeed a sweet deal considering that your visitor has paid nothing for their new account. There are many reasons why Ebay affiliates make more money than affiliates of other lesser-known systems. The question really isn't who can make money-using Ebay, but rather, will you be the next to stake your claim? I hope so.
