Why the New England Patriots Are Going to Destroy the New York Giants
Will This Be the First Use of the "mercy Rule" in the NFL?
The Giants return to their first since Super Bowl 35 when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants are already early 14-point underdogs against the mighty New England Patriots. The juggernaut that is New England is expected to steamroll the Giants. But do they have a chance? Are they a real, championship quality football team? Can they stop New England from winning 19 straight?
The Giants won 10 straight road games, and come in as a wild card winner of the NFC Championship. Eli Manning, also known as Manning the Lesser, makes his stand in two weeks on February 3, 2008 in Arizona. He has an amazing go to receiver in Burress and a one two punch in running back with Jacobs and Bradshaw. They go up against a team in the Patriots that they played in the last game of the regular season, and ALMOST beat them, giving the Patriots their toughest challenge of the year. Eli put up 4 touchdowns and made a valiant effort but still came up short. But can he end the perfect dreams now for the Patriots?
What about Tom Brady? He did not look his best against the Chargers, and with a healthy Tomlinson, how might the Chargers done? But just like all season, the Patriots find a way to win. And you have to wonder if there is anyone wearing the "ny" on the side of their helmet that can do the same.
So the game will be here soon-and predictions will fly around all over. But here is my thoughts-the Patriots, with their eyes only on "the next game" see the end of the perfect fight for a perfect season. They know how they can live in infamy, and they are ready to cease it. And as far as the Giants go-they shocked the Cowboys, they shocked the Packers and they want to shock the Patriots. Can they? I don't think wide eyed Eli Manning will take charge on the huge stage that is the Super Bowl. I don't think they will be able to catch these guys by surprise, and I think the Pats are all business the next two weeks.
