Why You Should Focus More on Giving Than Getting

Focus More on Giving Than Getting

Kurt Evans
When you can imagine and put yourself in another person's shoes and experience what they experience and feel what they feel, wouldn't you want someone their to help you if you were them? If your answer is yes; then, this is why you should focus more on giving than getting.

Positive Energy

When you're giving, you're sending out positive energy into the universe. If you look at this and say," well no one was ever there to help me, why should I go out of my way to help someone?"

Open Mind

Maybe you never had an open mind to being helped. Or maybe the help was there but you were so closed off to it that you just didn't see it. In order to get help, you must be open-minded to the idea of being helped.

The Human Condition

Part of the human condition is to be giving. A mother naturally wants to be giving to her child and watch it grow and flourish.

State Of Abundance

When we're giving, we're in a state of abundance. It's like saying," here, if you don't have enough, have some of mine. I'm willing to share."

Life

In order to get anything in life, we must first be willing to give. We give of our time, money, and energy so that others may enjoy the fruits of life. If no one was willing to be giving; then, we would all be in a state of need, we would be getting nothing, and we would be living in misery.

Give

Those that can; give, those that can't; get, and those that are so blind and cut off from giving and getting, get nothing because they don't have an open mind that's open to new ideas.

Giving And Getting

Giving and getting are intertwined. You can't have one without the other. It's like, the yin and yang of life. These two things, giving and getting; balance each other out in life and create harmony.

Balance

When things aren't in balance anymore, that's when problems arise. That's when you run around like a chicken with your head cut off and wind up accomplishing nothing because you have no direction and you don't know where you're going. In order to get somewhere, you must first have a destination, a goal. The road to nowhere leads to a town of someday, which never happens because there's no direction. There's only misery at this destination because you're in a constant state of need without ever getting any satisfaction.

Goal

When you have a goal, you have your eye on the prize because you know what the result of all your hard work will be. Not having a goal is like floundering around in the wind with no place to go. Having a goal, gives you motivation by giving you reasons to keep going through all the hard times. When you have a goal, you know that it's worth it in the end because you can visualize reaching your destination.

I'd rather give than receive, anyway :)

Very nice. If everyone had a caring attitude this world would be a much better place.
