Why Give Chocolates on Valentine's Day?

SB
Chocolate is one classic gift to give on Valentine's Day. But, why chocolates, do you ever wonder why?

Well, chocolate in reality is the sweetest food, human could indulge.

And, when we eat it, we eat it voraciously, letting our tongues ravenously enjoy every bit of it.

It symbolizes deep love and passion, affection and attraction, sensuality and luxury.

It also believed to be one good aphrodisiac that could trigger tremendous energies and create kinkiest desires.

From just the scientific term of the plant alone, of the tree where chocolate came from, "theobroma cacao", which in Greek means "food for the gods", we can say, why it is most chosen by lovers from generations to generations, even way back the ancient times, it is an all-time favorite gift for Valentine.

And, It's on February when sales of top chocolate manufacturing companies like Hershey's, Cadbury's, Toblerone and all others, reach its peak to the "max".

In Japan, Shibuya426 sighted a survey conducted just last month of January, 2009 that covered ages 10 - 50 years of combined 800 men and women, of why they think they have to give chocolates on heart's day and have concluded as follow:

1. 90.8% of men would give their women or ladies chocolate on Valentine;

2. 98.3% of women said if they would be happy to get one. While, 66.7% claimed they would feel their men were paying attention to them. And, 44.3% thought it's awesome and fashionable.

For me, the ratios are for real and it's not only in Japan. Regardless of culture, age and gender, in whatever circumstances or occasion. Generally, chocolate has a huge psychological and emotional effect to us, when it's received.

Chocolate can win someone's heart. It can reflect one's sincerest apology, rekindle an old flame, reassures love, initiate sensuous desire, uplifts morale, ease the depressed and can make a kid jump to glee too.

Furthermore, it truly expresses ultimate delight and happiness.

Indeed, a very reliable gift that could effectively deliver sender's message to the receiver in the most inexpensive, yet, chocolaty- sweetest way, one that we surely don't want to miss on Valentine's Day.
