Why Do You Hate Me So?
I roamed on lands that were wide open and free
They were mine to settle and hunt and breed
Until you cut my trees and moved in your,
Farms, your homes and towns
Now you scream and shout and yell
If you catch a glimpse of me on your fields or hills
Why do you hate me so?
I mate for life
Most of you do not
You kill my spouse
You hate my life
You hunt for my home
You kill my children
Why do you hate me so?
You hunt me by the air
You hunt me on the land
You have hunted my friends and relatives
I have been on many endangered species lists
Yet you still find ways to hunt me more
Why do you hate me so?
Soon you will have your way
And I will be but a memory
Just a picture on walls, museums and books
I will prance in zoos for you to watch
And that will be all that is left of my legacy
Extinction is Forever!
