Why John McCain Used Hillary Clinton to Win the 2008 Election
Senator John McCain Has Just Won the Presidential Election by Nominating Governor Sarah Palin from Alaska
By nominating Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska, as his Vice President, Senator McCain has just won the 2008 Presidential Election. As a former supporter and delegate for Hillary Clinton, and also canvasser for Barrack Obama, I can tell you with all certainty that Senator McCain has just won the 2008 Presidential Election.
How do I know this for certain? Because I've been involved in the democratic campaigns of both Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama, and because I've canvassed hundreds of people and talked to them about this subject.
Women (and men too) were deeply disappointed when Senator Clinton didn't receive the democratic nomination for president, and were disappointed again when she wasn't considered for Vice President by Senator Barrack Obama. At one time, the Democrats were looking at possibly sixteen years of Democratic rule, with Hillary Clinton as president for eight years, and then Barack Obama as President for the next eight years. This now could possibly be lost, with Republican rule for many years.
Barrack Obama and the other people involved with Senator Obama, to their own detriment, didn't understand how deep the loyalty ran for Hillary Clinton. They also didn't realize what they did when they didn't nominate Hillary Clinton as Vice-President. Most democrats didn't even know who Joe Biden was until he was nominated. And they certainly didn't think that John McCain would nominate a woman vice-president.
A gun-toting woman vice-president no less. An avid fisherman and an avid hunter no less.
A woman who will inspire all NRA members to get out and vote.
A woman with five children, one child with Down's Syndrome.
A Christian woman who is against abortion in any form, even when rape or incest is involved.
A woman who will also claim the support of many women.
Barrack Obama's campaign wore blinders and didn't look anywhere except straight ahead, using their hearts instead of their heads. Their hearts told them yes, the first Afro-American President, a man who inspires hope, and a man who can lead.
This is all true, but millions of Hillary supporters never fully were behind Barrack Obama, and never would be. They felt cheated.
I proudly canvassed for Barrack Obama, as a representative for the Obama Campaign, after Hillary dropped out of the race. I talked and listened to hundreds of Hillary Clinton supporters who said that they would not vote for Barrack Obama unless Hillary Clinton was also on the ticket. And I told the Campaign Managers about this, but no one listened to me. No one believed me.
Senator Obama, I believe, is intuitive, but I don't understand why he couldn't see that Hillary was needed for his success. His eyes were shadowed by something that I don't understand; either dislike for Hillary, dislike for Bill Clinton, or possibly ego. I do believe that he forgot about the eighteen million cracks in the ceiling.
He didn't understand that politics is a rough sport and if you don't play your cards right, you lose.
And the cards are now in John McCain's arena, and he has been dealt an excellent hand.
