Grand Champion KayLynn's Party Crasher, also know as Snoopy, has the potential to take Best in Show at the 2012 Westminster Dog Show. Party Crasher was Best of Breed in 2011 and he has improved over the past year. The terrier group is always a contender for Best in Show and this year is no different.

Bedlington Terriers

The breed dates back to 1825, in Northumberland, England. Bedlington Terriers are named for the Bedlington Mining Shire. The breed is known for its speed and endurance. Bedlington Terriers are said to have the head of a lamb, and the heart of a lion. They are used to hunt down vermin, both above and below ground. It is an excellent breed for Earth Dog competitions.

Bedlington Terriers and Westminster

The Bedlington Terriers are due to win a Best in Show. To date, only one Bedlington Terrier has won the Westminster Dog Show. That was back in 1948. Since then, the breed has won two Best in Group--the latest being in 2000. In order to receive an invitation to appear in the Westminster Dog Show, a dog must be one of the top five in its breed and have at least a champion status.

Judging for the Bedlington Terriers will take place on February 14 at 9:30 a.m. in ring five of the Theater section of Madison Square Garden. A total of eight Bedlington Terriers are making an appearance in 2012. With Kaylynn Kennels representing one-quarter of the Bedlingtons, they stand a good chance of taking Best of Breed.

KayLynn's Party Crasher

The distinguishing characteristic of the Bedlington Terrier is its lamb-like appearance. Kaylynn's Party Crasher is a strong contender this year to take Best of Breed, Best in Group and Best in Show. His only competition is another Kaylynn's Bedlington Terrier. Grand Champion Guiding Light, also known as Beamer, took the Award of Merit at Westminster in 2011. The Terrier Group has always performed well at this show. 2012 could be the year of the Bedlington.

Three-year-old, Grand Champion Kaylynn's Party Crasher has the distinction of being ranked as the number one Bedlington Terrier. He took Best of Breed at Westminster in 2011. Party Crasher is up for a repeat performance in 2012. Look for him to take Best in Show this year. His owner/handler is Sheila Buetler of Kaylynn Kennels.
