Why Kobe Bryant Isn't Better Than Michael Jordan

SP
Enough is enough! I'm sick of all the Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan comparisons. Kobe is a great athlete but he's not in the same class with the great Air Jordan. Although as of now Jordan has a slight better field goal percentage then Kobe, Jordan hit more clutch shots. Kobe hasn't been able to hit clutch shots when their needed since playing without Shaq.

Kobe has to work hard with getting his teammates to want to play with him, but players that played with Jordan elevated their game to the next level and were honored to be playing with him. I would give the era of competition level slightly to Jordan, but the two eras aren't that far apart. Unlike Kobe, Jordan was more focused and didn't expect to get a foul everything he drove to the hole, instead he expected to make the shot and if you didn't more times then not he did get foul.

There was never a time which Jordan couldn't have his way with the defense, but the Celtics held Kobe in check most of the time in this year's NBA Finals. And I'm not basing my opinion off of this year's finals because Kobe was the only Lakers player on the court playing to win a win a title. But at the end of the day Kobe isn't and never will be better then Jordan was. If you had a choice to pick up Kobe or Jordan in their primes for your NBA franchise, would you really pick Kobe over Jordan? I wouldn't.

Michael's first 7 years were phenomenal! 5 scoring titles, defensive player of the year, 2 mvps, a championship and finals mvp, and a 52% from the field. Kobe couldn't hope to compete. And he had the luxury of Shaquille O'neal, opening things up for him by drawing attention down low. Still, Jordan was more accurate and had that edge in clutch performances.

The only people who would assert that Kobe can hold a candle to Jordan are Lakers fans. Anyone who was alive and aware of the NBA in the 80s and 90s knows that Jordan owned the league and all of sports during his reign. Not to mention that he retired and came back to win 3 more rings.

The era of Kobe being the best player in the NBA is over. It's Lebron's turn now.

I am a Kobe hater and never understood the comparison and this constant crowning of the next Jordan, there is no new Jordan, it's impossible for anyone else to do what Jordan did.

    Kobe ain't in Jordan's league

    Stats - MJ
    Championships - MJ
    Individual Awards - MJ
    Athleticism - MJ
Playing against tougher defenses - MJ
Playing against better competition - MJ (he played against some of the greatest dynasties in basketball)

There's no comparison at all. Kobe fanboys are like Apple fanboys, except that Apple actually delivers. Even after MJ's first retirement, he was already considered as arguably the greatest to have ever played the game.

    Ditto.

Only player who is close to MJ is LeBron now. Kobe is simply a joke.
