The LG Attune is a budget smartphone from U.S. Cellular that focuses on offering a compact and affordable messaging smartphone. While the LG Attune might be affordable, it's riddled with issues that make it an unattractive offer.
Small and Resistive Touchscreen
The LG Attune attunes presents itself as a compact smartphone, but it just may be a bit too compact. The LG Attune features a small 2.8 inch touchscreen display which as a bit too small to properly run apps, play games, watch movies, read eBooks, or pretty much do anything else. In addition to being a bit too small, the LG Attune's touchscreen is resistive and not capacitive like most modern smartphones '" which makes it less responsive and a bit outdated.
Poor Hardware
As you would probably expect, the hardware specifications of the LG Attune won't likely knock you out of your seat with excitement '" and will more likely bore you until you fall asleep and out of your seat. The LG Attune features a 1,000 mAh battery, a 2.8 inch display, supports Bluetooth v2.1, packs a 1.3 megapixel camera, 90MB of internal memory, and although LG hasn't officially released the processor and RAM specs of the LG Attune smartphone, it's safe to assume that they won't be that impressive.
Inferior Camera Quality
For only $49.99 it's hard to expect much from the LG Attune, but while most modern smartphones are packing 5,8,10, and even 12 megapixel cameras and 3 megapixel camera phones are considered poor, the Attune's smartphone just doesn't fair well. This smartphone offers less than half of the modern day camera phone minimum at 1.3 megapixels and if you're a photography buff looking for a budget smartphone with a nice camera, the LG Attune isn't for you.
Short Battery Life
Not only is the LG Attune small and compact, its battery also comes up a bit short as well. The LG Attune features a 1,000 mAh battery which boasts a low 6 hours max talk time, but seeing how battery life varies depending on use and user settings, most users will likely see less than 6 hours on this smartphone. Even if the LG Attune was one of the highest-end smartphones on the market, its battery life would still be too inferior to enjoy this smartphone for long.
Cramped QWERTY Keyboard
Other than price, the LG Attune's biggest selling point is it's slider QWERTY keyboard. A physical keyboard is a great feature to have for messaging, texting, typing, and social networking enthusiasts, but the small QWERTY keyboard of the LG Attune makes typing more frustrating instead of easier and more convenient.
