Why the LG Cosmos 2 is a Bad Deal - Even at No Cost
Why You're Better Off Buying a Phone Instead of Choosing the Free LG Cosmos 2
Beggars can't be choosy and it's very hard to argue with a cell phone that has absolutely no cost, but free or not, the LG Cosmos 2 has a few disappointing features that are not worth putting up with - even for free.
Horrible Camera Quality
Most cell phones are replacing traditional digital cameras as modern-day consumers' go-to camera, and now that shoppers no longer desire carrying around more than one gadget, it's important for virtually every cell phone to have an at least average camera. The LG Cosmos 2 only promises a paltry 1.3 megapixel camera that makes for poor still shots and offers no video recording options at all.
Lack of Social Networking Options
One of the biggest selling points of the LG Cosmos 2 [other than it's free price] is it's QWERTY slider keyboard which makes typing, texting, emailing, social networking, and browsing the web a lot easier. Usually a QWERTY slider keyboard is an awesome feature to have featured on a cell phone, but the QWERTY slider keyboard of the LG Cosmos 2 only serves to add weight and bulk to this cell phone because it only features basic mobile web browsing and email - and has no social networking or instant messaging features whatsoever.
Small and Cramped Design
Sometimes having a compact phone is a great thing and hardly anyone wants a huge bulky phone nowadays, but the design of the LG Cosmos 2 is just a bit too small and cramped. Typing on the LG Cosmos 2's cramped number pad or teensy QWERTY slider keyboard can be nerve-wrecking, and viewing items on this cell phone's tiny 2 inch screen is even more frustrating.
Poor Battery Life
Having inferior hardware and a tiny form factor is one thing, but having a poor battery life is another problem all its own. Battery life can make or break a cell phone easily and the paltry 6 hours of max talk time per charge of the LG Cosmos 2 leaves a lot to be desired.
Small Display
To nab the LG Cosmos 2, you'll have to pay a small fee of "nothing", but if you include the price of the glasses you'll need to buy after trying to view the LG Cosmos 2's tiny 2 inch display, the LG Cosmos 2 will have cost you anywhere from $50-$1,000 dollars. Navigating the web, text messaging, and even making calls are made frustrating due to the LG Cosmos 2's tiny 2 inch screen - and it's one of the features that is truly holding this free phone behind.
