Why I Love Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

I have a confession to make: even though I am a man, I love lip balm. I've always had very sensitive skin, and I have found that my lips become easily chapped and dry during the winter months. For years, I just used ChapStick or Blistex that could be purchased at any drug store or grocery store. Then I found out that many popular manufacturers of lip balm test their products on animals. I am an avid animal rights activist and I am deeply against the testing of cosmetics on animals, so I set out to find a high quality lip balm made by a company that refuses to do animal testing.

It wasn't long after my quest began that my boyfriend introduced me to Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I've used beeswax products in the past that I have not liked, so I was a bit skeptical. But he had an extra tube of the Burt's Bees product, so I decided to give it a try. When I first applied the Burt's Bees lip balm, I was surprised at how rich and creamy the product felt on my lips, which was unlike my experience with ChapStick or Blistex.

At first, the product didn't seem to be doing much, but after a few moments, I began to feel a gentle, medicated tingle on my lips that let me know the product was working. The tingling sensation definitely was a welcome relief from the normal dry, chapped feeling I was experiencing. The Burt's Bees Beeswax lip balm definitely gave my lips quick relief, but the relief was also long-lasting. I was surprised when I could still feel the product working on my lips a full hour after it was applied. I would have normally applied ChapStick several times during the same time frame. But the Burt's Bees product seemed to be formulated to last, which is definitely something I liked.

In the end, I was very pleased with the Burt's Bees Beeswax lip balm and will definitely be buying the product again in the future. With a suggested retail price of $3.99, the Burt's Bees product is definitely pricier than most lip balms you will find at the store. But the product lasts so long and needs to be reapplied so infrequently that I think it makes up for the difference. If you are looking for a lip balm made of high quality ingredients that isn't tested on animals, I would definitely suggest giving Burt's Bees Beeswax lip balm a try. Burt's Bees products can be found at specialty stores and mass market retailers nationwide.
