Why I Love Gossip Gangstar Perez Hilton

Any reader of celebrity gossip knows who Perez Hilton is. Owner of his own gossip blog (the creatively named perezhilton.com), he is a writer based in Hollywood who always seems to have the latest, juiciest gossip about the LA elite. Whether he is praising Angelina Jolie or bashing Britney Spears, you can count on a hilarious and slightly educational read. These are the top four reasons why I love Perez Hilton.

1.) His fashion sense is completely nonexistent-but he pulls it off so well

Perez is not hard to spot in photos. Besides having brightly colored hair (it varies from pink to blue to orange, all around the rainbow), he also wears ridiculous clothing. He likes to carry around a Hello Kitty messenger bag and wear clashing shirts and pants. If you asked him what is favorite color is, he would probably reply with, "Neon." But after looking at Perez's hot pink website, and realizing that he has the humor of a junior high student, you would not expect any less from him. You come to enjoy his sense of style, and accept it as part of his kitschy appeal.

2.) He makes up the best words

"Shiteous," "horrendous" (with an accent on the ho), and "sperminated" are just a few of the amusingly brilliant words that Perez has introduced to his audience over the years. He peppers his blog posts with words such as these in order to add his own personal touch to gossip that we could sometimes otherwise look up on gossip giant TMZ.com. In a way, this lingo makes his posts seem more like a friend actually gossiping with you, rather than a famous website speaking to millions of people.

3.) He is not afraid of being crude in order to get his point across

Adding to his (slightly campy) appeal, he uses a computer program, perhaps Paint, to draw on photos of celebrities to accessorize his posts. Depending on whether or not he likes the celebrity in question, he will write words, draw faces, or paint references to sex and drugs. Some people would find this to be rather elementary, but it could be that these drawings help to summarize his posts. That and he has become famous for his "artwork" alone.

4.) He always knows the latest and the greatest

Obviously I love Perez Hilton the most because he somehow always knows what is going on around him. He has sources that take pictures for him-of relationships that are officially nonexistent, of inside exclusive parties, and of celebrities generally doing what they do best and making fools of themselves. He also gets insider information from the celebrities themselves; just a few weeks ago he was on the phone with Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's father, who was dishing all sorts of dirt on Lindsay's mom, Dina Lohan. Readers of Perez Hilton can expect things like this on a regular basis, as there is seemingly no limit as to who or what Perez has access to.
