Why I Love Jennifer Carroll on Top Chef Las Vegas

Episode Meat Natalie: She Just Keeps Getting Cuter and Cuter

It doesn't get much simpler than this: Jennifer Carroll is just so darn cute. I'm pulling for her in every episode. Something about how she sits incredibly high standards for herself resonates with me. Not to mention her sometimes crazy hair and understated but sexy look. And that at first glance she might seem quiet, but underneath there's real sass.

Take this episode's comment about the TV dinner quickfire challenge. Jennifer had to come up with a meal inspired by the Flintstones. She made some off-hand comment (and I'm paraphrasing wildly here because I love to relax and watch the show, not take notes) about how cute Pebbles' hair was plus she had hunky Bam Bam as a boyfriend. Though Jen frowned on his violent tendencies, she made some reference thick with sexual innuendo and then gave this totally charming smile, like, "I'm so sweet, now you're going to doubt whether I actually said that."

Jen didn't particularly shine in the final challenge. In fact, I can't tell if the pressure's causing her to get frazzled because she was kicking hiney and taking names more towards the beginning of the season.

Another favorite moment of this episode was Michael Voltaggio pouting when he didn't win the final challenge, saying that Kevin's dish was so simple he could have made it in 20 minutes. I think it showed his true colors and his weakness - thinking that no one is daring or innovative but him.

I can't say that I was sad to see Michael Isabella go. He was always good for some entertaining commentary, especially about Robin Leventhal, but his arrogance was also a bit grating. Though it was a bit sad because I think he cooks better than Robin or Eli Kirshtein.

As it stands now, Jen's my hands-down favorite, Kevin comes in second, and Bryan Voltaggio comes in third. I can't wait for tomorrow's episode.
