Then, my best friend introduced me to Rockstar Energy Drink. Rockstar is a lightly carbonated beverage that comes cold in a can, and it can be found at most gas stations and convenience stores. At a suggested retail price of $1.99 per can, it's not exactly cheap. But, it is half the price of my Starbucks coffee. Rockstar has a citrus flavor that definitely grows on you the more you drink it. Rockstar contains caffeine like my coffee, but it also has other ingredients proven to boost energy like taurine, guarana, and B vitamins. Normal Rockstar contains a decent amount of sugar, but a zero calorie sugar free version of Rockstar is also available.
The first time I drank a Rockstar, I was surprised by just how quickly I was feeling the surge of energy the drink provided. Within 20 minutes, I was alert and focused. The energy lasted for a while too. Just one can of Rockstar could get me through most mornings at work and into the afternoon, as opposed to drinking several cups of coffee. Sometimes, several hours after drinking Rockstar you do feel a noticeable energy crash, but this is typical of any caffeinated beverage and I think the vitamins and herbs in Rockstar actually give you a "softer" crash than with coffee.
Recently, I've noticed that my daily Starbucks habit has become a daily Rockstar habit. Any caffeine addiction will cost you money, but I think I've saved a lot by switching to Rockstar. Although the suggested price is $1.99 per can, by shopping around and trying to notice specials, I've been able to regularly find it for as low as $1.00 per can. And if the regular Rockstar beverage is too much for you to drink, a Rockstar Power Shot has recently been released that gives you all the "kick" of Rockstar in a sip instead of a whole drink. Energy drinks are becoming increasingly popular in America, and Rockstar is one of the most popular drinks. If you haven't tried it yet, I would highly recommend picking up a can of Rockstar at your local gas station or convenience store and giving it a try!
