Living in Florida often means that afternoons can be quite rainy and many places where you walk subject to standing water. I soon learned the reason so many people wore sandals everywhere. Sandals allow the water to run through and allows your feet to dry relatively quickly. Teva sandals provided a solution to the wear and tear on my feet from rain.
Teva sandals are made from man-made materials in a variety of colors and styles. The sole of a Teva sandal has gullies that allow your feet to perspire and for rain water to escape. The sole is fitted to your foot shape to make a comfortable base for your foot. Teva sandals close with a variety of Velcro straps that help adjust them perfectly to your foot-one around the ankle, one around the foot, one around the toe. The upperpart of a Teva sandal is made of cushioned materials that dry quickly but are soft on your feet. The entire sandal is lightweight and has enough traction for many trails. The one downfall of a Teva sandal is it allows in pebbles and sand and stickers, so there are areas where you might not want to where your Teva sandals.
I wear my Teva sandals with and without socks. The socks can add a layer of warmth or cushion for your feet. I am happy to go without socks, too, when temperatures are really warm.
I wear my Teva sandals to golf, too, since the golf course can be wet from sprinklers or from rain. The acidic nature of the surface water in Florida often destroys my shoes by pulling the sole away from the upper. This happened to my Teva sandal, too, but since I have a new pair, I am likely to repair the old pair with glue. The old pair, I have found, is good for gardening and for climbing ladders without hurting my feet.
Teva sandals are more expensive then other brands of sandal. I have beach sandals that I paid $10 for and wear quite often, also, but they don't take the abuse -- rough territory, awkward surfaces, wet and muddy areas that my Teva sandals take and still keep looking good and feeling fine on my foot.

Post a CommentI have two pairs of Teva sandals and love them. They're so comfortable and great for hiking. I wish they didn't change the design on the newer ones but since they make their shoes so well, the old ones will last a very long time.
Both my sons love their TEVA sandals too :)
My sister loves her Tevas, too! Maybe I should ask Santa for a pair :)
I need a pair of these. Sounds like great shoes.
I have Teva flip-flops and love them! Happy Thanksgiving!
These sandals sound like they are really tough, but the only type that I wear is of the flip flop variety. Unfortunately I won't be enjoying sandals for several months even though we are still in our rainy season. The cooler temps tell me to wear something a bit warmer.
