1. Julie Andrews played Mary Poppins. She ploayed the British nanny to a tee. I can't imagine anybody else playing Mary Poppins. I am glad that Julie Andrews won an Oscar for the role.
2. The soundtrack is a musical masterpiece. There isn't a bad song in the movie. My fravorite songs are Jolly Holiday, Spoon Full of Sugar, Let's Go Fly a Kite, and Step in Time.
3. I stayed awake through the whole movie. My family and I went to see Mary Poppins when I was ten. This was the first movie that I stayed awake through until the end. This movie began my love affair with movies.
4. Dick Van Dyke played two roles. He played Bert and the bank president. He played both roles well. There was great chemistry between Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews.
5. The special effects are awesome. I am still awed by the special effects in Mary Poppins. I love when there is a tea party on the ceiling and I also love when they all jumped into the chalk picture. Then, they went riding in the English countryside on pastel merry-go round horses.
6. The musical numbers are great. I enjoy watching all of the musical numbers in Mary Poppins. My favorite musical numbers are Spoonful of Sugar, Jolly Holiday, and Step in Time.
7. There is a surprise at the end of the movie. Yes, Dick Van Dyke played two roles in the movie; however, the audience doesn't know that untill they see the end credits. The twist at the end is magical too.
8. I watch this movie evey year. I love watching Mary Poppins because it makes me feel good. It has always been a great family film. It is important to have past, present, and future movies that can be watched by the entire family.
9. The message of Mary Poppins is timeless. The message of Mary Poppins involves the importance of family. Work is important; but family comes first.
10. Admiral Boom is funny. He likes to fire off the cannon hourly. Therfore, everone has to be on guard in order to protect their belongings.
I like classic movies. Disney movies are classic movies. My favorite Disney movie is Mary Poppins. This is because it is a movie for the entire family. It also has a great story, great songs, and a great cast. Mary Poppins is a movie that is practically perfect. Source Mary Poppins, 1965
