In addition, movie lovers probably have a movie or two that made them fans of the silver screen. I have a couple of movies that made me fall in love with movies. Mary Poppins is one of those magical movies. This Disney movie made me love movies for the first time. In fact, here are five reasons why Mary Poppins made me a movie lover for life.

This is the first movie that I saw from beginning to end. I was 12 and Mary Poppins had been released again after many years. My family decided that we would go see the movie after dinner at an Italian restaurant. It was the late show of Mary Poppins. It started at 9:30 and its running time was over two hours. my parents thought that I would fall asleep. However, I was hooked from the first musical number. Therefore, Mary Poppins made me a movie lover because it was my first movie memory.

The movie was magical. This movie was about a magical British nanny. Julie Andrews was a practically perfect Mary Poppins. The special effects were mesmerizing. I sat through the whole movie wondering how movie makers made Mary Poppins fly. In short, this movie made me love movies because this was the first time that I saw the magic of special effects. In addition, this movie began my love affair with Julie Andrews.

The story is timeless. This story is about bringing a family back together. This family does reconnect with the help of a magical nanny and a funny chimney sweep. Mary Poppins is a sweet story with an important message. The message of Mary Poppins is that family is important. Therefore, Mary Poppins made me a movie lover because of its plot and message.

The songs are great. I love Spoonful of Sugar, Step in Time, Jolly Holiday, and Let's Go Fly a Kite. The soundtrack is classic too. I can sing every song in the movie. Therefore, Mary Poppins made me a movie lover because this the first time that I memorized musical numbers.

It's a Disney movie. I don't think that there is a bad Disney movie. In addition, Mary Poppins was the first movie that I saw that combined live action and animation. I think that Mary Poppins was a ground breaking movie for combining both of those elements into a film in the 1960s. Therefore, Mary Poppins made me a movie lover because it was a ground breaking movie.
