Why Do Men Have Sex?

Sex is one touchy subject. In fact it could be very controversial. I am not really sure why. It should be something enjoyable but many people have different interpretations of it and about it. Is sex good ? Is it bad ? Should it be between married couples only ? Should it be just to make babies ? Should it be something you talk about or not talk about ? The questions are many and can start many debates. However, a question I want to talk about is one I was asked several months ago by a good friend. She asked me why do men have sex with women ?

Now before I start, I must make something very clear. This is written from only the perspective of a male and does not take into consideration the female point of view at all. So, please take a note of that. Also note that the reasons listed below are not the only ones and some can be more complex than others. Sometimes many reasons come together. Finally, I would like to say that I have been asking many guys on this topic to get a full picture before I started writing so this is not just my opinion.

Arousal : A man can have sex with a woman because he is simply « aroused » and any woman would do to relieve him at that specific point in time. Of course some men are different than others and would not lower the bar of the women they would be with. So, a man can have sex with a woman simply because he is aroused. Once he is relieved then he does not see any necessity to this woman and it is over. Of course, that can change if he likes her performance.

Boredom : A man can have sex with a woman because he is bored. Yes, that is very sad but true. A man who is bored is capable of many stupid things and also great things and sex can be one of those. A bored man can find sex to be a good waste of time and something that he can enjoy for a certain period of time and it is also free if he is in a relationship. That is why many people say that long time ago many people had a lot of children because there was no T.V. !

Conquistador : A man can have sex with a woman just to add to his collection of conquests. Women may collect shoes and bags but men can collect a number of women they slept with. Of course, the higher the number the better the man feels about himself. He feels it necessary to increasing that number at any cost so he will keep trying to have sex with as many women as possible. Yes, the man will say whatever and will do whatever to sleep with the woman and then he feels that his mission is accomplished and he can move on to the next target. And he will have many targets around the globe !

Love : A man can have sex with a woman because he loves her. He feels as if he just wants to eat her up. Of course every man is different in that regard and his manifestation of « love » is different. But this does not continue for very long and it becomes sporadic. That is why they say sex dies after marriage.

Territorial : A man can have sex with a woman just so somebody else would not. So, if a guy knows that another guy likes a woman but he does not want him to be with this woman for any reason, then he will have sex with this woman just to ruin it for the other guy. The guy does not even have to like the girl. He just wants to ruin it for the oher guy. It is sick and twisted but also very sadly true.

Like : A man can have sex with a woman because he likes her. Now, that could mean they have been dating for a week or two or maybe that they just met. Does not really mean that he is going to love her or that he wants to « feel connected » to the woman or anything. He just likes her and that is all that is there to it.

Adventurer : A man can have sex with a woman because he sees it as exciting or adventurous. This could be in an affair for example. It could be someone of authority like a supervisor, manager or even a teacher. It could also be with a woman he is in a relationship and they are walking down the park at night and he thought it would be fun to have sex outside.

Attention : A man can have sex with a woman because he wanted the attention or wanted to feel loved. That usually happens in a longtime relationship or marriage and it usually occurs with someone else than his partner. At that moment, the man may be going through some rough time with his wife, fiancée or girlfriend and someone else may have started giving the man an attention he desired.

Breaking & Entering : A man can have sex with a woman to « break her ». Not physically of course. Sometimes, a man sees a woman that is challenging to him or maybe even a group of his friends. So, one of them decides to take on that challenging of breaking that powerful woman who no one could mess with. Of course, in the movies this happens and he ends up falling in love with her but in reality that does not really happen. In fact it can be really dramatic.

Opportunist : A man can have sex with a woman because the opportunity presented itself. This usually occurs around alcohol or parties or when a man sees a really vulnerable woman. He sees the opportunity and he goes for it. This one usually ends very quickly.

Attraction : A man can have sex with a woman because he sees her and she thinks she is attractive. She can be beautiful or have a beautiful face or have a sexy body. Therefore, he would like to have sex with her immediately and he will try his best to achieve that. Once the attraction wanes then he moves on to someone else.

Curiosity : A man can have sex with a woman because he was curious about her sexual performance. This usually happens when the man knows the woman previously and overtime he becomes curious. They could be friends or acquaintance or colleagues at work. Maybe, they talked about sex before or talked about their performances with others or even shared opinions about how sex should be. The man may like the woman but he is essentially just curious.

Now please, if you are in a relationship, do not start analyzing why he is having sex with you or how did it all start. As I mentioned before these are NOT the only reasons and sometimes it can be a multiple of reasons . However, these reasons listed are the most common of why men have sex with you.
