You see ladies, guys are suckers when they receive attention from you. If we only knew the power of female persuasion, maybe we can do a better job fending off the rodent ex. But, we don't. Incidental Contact?

Depending on how he feels about you, perhaps he has some lingering thoughts about his ex. When the ex seemingly pops out of nowhere through a casual text message, a Facebook connection, or the so-called accidental run-in, there could be some thoughts in the back of his mind about getting together for the evening. Going inside the mind of a guy for a second, that may be tough to turn down. Again, does he like you enough to look past this situation? If not, the ex becomes potentially problematic, and your new relationship may not be as strong as you think.

What's Happening, Part I?

At one point in time he had a real relationship with his ex, which may help explain why men talk to their exes. He probably had some in-depth, interesting conversations and times with this person. If he feels, at times, that same level of communication is not with you or perhaps, it's just different, the ex becomes a renewed outlet. For example, maybe there was a television show he and his ex watched religiously together, but you don't watch that show with him. This is an example of him just filling a void.
