Why the Motorola Triumph Smartphone Offers Too Little Too Late

The Motorola Triumph smartphone is one of the latest Android phones to hit the market, but although it's a modern phone, most of its features aren't that modern. Following is why the Motorola Triumph is the last of a dying breed.

Outdated Camera

Having an HD camera is one of the biggest perks of owning a smartphone, and while it's uncommon to see 8 megapixel and even 12 megapixel cameras on modern smartphones, the Motorola Triumph under-delivers in the camera department. While the Motorola Triumph's inbuilt camera isn't horrible, it's more comparable to smartphone's of "yester-year" with only 5 megapixels, a VGA front-facing camera, and 720p video capture with up to 24 frames per second, while 1080p and 30fps is the modern norm.

Inferior Hardware

If you thought that the outdated camera of the Motorola Triumph is the only feature that needs an upgrade, you'd be surprised to find that it isn't. The modern smartphone features a fast dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a quick GPU, and lots of storage space, but not the Motorola Triumph. The Motorola Triumph is seriously lacking under the hood with a 1 GHz single core, 512MB of RAM, and 2GB of storage space. Quite frankly, there are MP3 players on the market with better specs than the Motorola Triumph and most of its hardware is half of what's expected in today's market.

Android 2.2 Only

Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the latest Android operating system and will feature many upgrades from Android 2.2 including, a new keyboard, better word selection tools, more efficient power management, better application control, internet calling, better camera options, upgraded download management, an all-new user interface, and lots of other great features, but none of those features will be experienced on the Triumph. While most smartphones are getting rid of the old and getting with the new, the Motorola Triumph is clinging onto the past and will feature Android 2.2 instead of the new and efficient Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

No 4G Internet Options

Fourth generation wireless technology, or 4G for short, has been alive and well since 2009 and is the most modern method for connecting to model devices while they are out of Wi-Fi range. 4G internet is usually a surefire feature of most modern phones, but unlike other modern smartphones, the Motorola Triumph won't feature 4G access and will only support 3G mobile internet capabilities.
