Why Musicians Should Stop Making Promises

Andrew Ng
Musicians need to stop promising a new album this year or even this year before the album is even done. I know that you get writers block, things in life comes up but at the same time fans wait for that new album of yours especially if you haven't come out with a new album in years. They wait and wait and a month before the album is supposed to come out it's pushed back it's been done to death. I am not singling out a single musician because most of them do this. The album is out this year for sure 5 months later pushed back, and like most people I'm fine with that if they are trying to make sure they are coming out with a good album but for me most of the time these long delayed albums aren't worth the wait. Sometimes they are but most of the times they aren't.

Another thing that should be done is if you're not the musician whose coming out with the album please shut up and don't give your opinion of when the albums coming out because most of the time you are wrong. I love how you say oh I worked with blank and will be featured on the album and I promise you its out this year. Next year albums out your not on it blank artist says what he wasn't suppose to be on it. Now doesn't that make you seem like an idiot? So musicians please just shut up about release dates till you know what it is for sure if you want to feed your fans some news put up a demo on youtube or your website we would love that instead of listening to your release dates that are wrong. It's not the musicans fault sometimes its the damn media don't say things just to get a page view online or to sell a magazine its retarded get a life.

So musicans please stop saying release dates unless your sure because when you push it back you get hype and if you can't top that hype your fans are going to lose faith in you and thats what it's all about isn't it making your fans happy the ones who made your a career a success?

I completely disagree with this article. Artists, especially up and coming ones, need to promote their album months before it comes out. Hype isn't a bad thing, it is a good thing. When they promote it to the point where it becomes anticipated, then they push it back a few months it suddenly becomes highly anticipated. That equals album sales.
