Why Not Have a Seasonally Themed Wedding?

Build Your Wedding Around a Special Time of Year

A new wedding themed idea is taking brides by storm. The plan is to have a wedding based around the season you get married. Wedding parties are planning décor, fashion, food and more around the theme of a season. Holiday themed weddings are getting very popular and range from the 4th of July to Christmas.

Some brides also, have come up with the idea of turning the wedding into the theme. Such as celebrating spring in the winter or going with a winter look in the fall. It's entirely up to the bride to make arrangements around the theme they choose.

One key to the themed wedding is that it is easier to plan. All you need to do is plan everything with your eyes focused on the theme or the season. Need some ideas? Let's take a look at what fits with what season.

What is it that winter represents? The first thing you may think of is Christmas. That would leave your wedding party wearing red and green. You can put holly or poinsettias around the church and hall as your flowers of choice.

But, you can also do blue, burgundy or a deep purple. Any of those colors work nice in a winter theme. Do not hesitate to use pine cones, incense, warm cinnamon or egg nog with a winter theme. A turkey dinner in late November or warm Italian food in January also fills the bill.

A spring wedding brings out bright colors. Use spring flowers and cheerful flowers. Pedals abounding a hall can make a perfect effect. If you like the Easter holiday, each member of the party may where different dazzling colors as if Easter eggs in a spring bowl. Spring represents new beginnings and what better time for a wedding.

Dinner menus can range from ham to steak. Some parties even grill the food on a barbecue.

Summer weddings require the bride to allow the wedding party to wear lighter material outfits. A nice almost sundress type of outfit or a short sleeveless dress in a yellow or beige color fits the summer occasion. Flowers should have some light or neutral toned colors. A very light pink or a pastel blue connects one to a summer wedding motif. You may even want to consider dresses in silk or satin.

Be sure to serve lots of fruits and vegetables with whatever course you choose in the summer.

In the fall one often thinks of the colors of leaves as a wedding theme. Dark reds, bright gold and browns usually abound. Of course red flowers, often means roses, a favorite of many. If the occasion is late October, take a small bit of the Halloween theme and go with orange. Use earth tones as an accent.

A great pumpkin or cream soup as a starter course makes the occasion even more memorable for guests during the fall.

Once you understand the process of choosing a season and a theme, ideas will flow as easily as your wedding gown veil. Just think about all the possibilities carefully before making a decision.
