Defining the Nylon Bath Sponge -
Nylon bath sponges are made out of a synthetic material and come in a variety of colors such as yellow, black, white, blue; etc. These sponges are also quite affordable and only cost around a dollar at Walmart or other similar stores.
Problems With Normal Sponges -
Normal sponges tend to collect dirt and wear out as they age. The moisture that is absorbed by normal sponges will eventually cause mold to form on them as well. This is quite unpleasant looking and is a sign that you should buy a new sponge.
How Nylon Sponges Solve The Problem -
Since nylon sponges are made of a synthetic material, mold will not grow on them. It's not just the synthetic material, though. Nylon sponges have larger holes in them that tend to allow the sponge to dry out faster. Without a moisture supply, the mold will not grow. Nylon sponges also last longer than normal sponges, they're easier to travel with, and they don't become dirty easily.
What Nylon Sponges Feel Like -
Nylon sponges feel different than normal sponges and bar soap. The first couple of times you use a nylon sponge, your skin may feel a little raw afterwards. It doesn't hurt or anything, it's just that your skin is a little more sensitive. The reason why your body feels raw is because the nylon sponge has scraped off dead skin cells.
Normal sponges don't do a very good job of removing dead skin cells, which is one reason why your skin doesn't feel raw after you use a normal sponge. After you become acclimated to using the nylon sponge, you will no longer notice these mild discomforts. You may also feel a bit cleaner than you would if you had used a normal sponge or bar soap.
But Nylon Sponges Are Not for Guys -
Some people seem to think that nylon sponges are specifically made for girls. Most advertisements will show a woman using a nylon sponge most of the time, which further instills the idea that nylon sponges are only for women. But it's simply not true. Lots of men use nylon sponges, and they're not bothered by it. And yes, I'm talking about straight men. So don't allow this stereotype to dissuade you from trying out a nylon sponge.
Normal sponges just can't compete with nylon sponges. Mold, aging, and other problems are often associated with normal sponges. But you don't have to put up with these problems any longer. Just buy a nylon sponge and say goodbye to the old way of bathing.
