First Reason for this: It just should not matter for goodness sake. Ordinarily, you should not care what others think about you or put too much stock into what they think about you, especially if you are not causing harm to them or anyone else.
Second Reason for this: You need to know how to strike back when others tell you that you are hopeless or that you have no chance of making it in a particular profession despite your abilities. In this case, you must try to prove them wrong by proceeding with the career path of your choice.
Third Reason for this: They may not have the best solution for you. Unless they can adequately back up their claims regarding why you will not succeed in a particular industry, you should not listen to them.
Fourth Reason for this: If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you do it too? No, probably not. Well, just because others say it is best to take a job flipping hamburgers and then do it does not mean you should do it.
Fifth Reason for this: They might not be the most qualified to tell you what type of job you should take, especially if they are general failures in the business world. You would be better off not listening to them unless you are convinced they are trying to prevent you from making their mistakes.
Sixth Reason for this: They might not have your best interests at heart. If you can sense they are merely your detractors who could not stomach you being somebody, you must ignore them.
Seventh Reason for this: You could miss out on the finer things and thus end up having regrets. It is critical to not allow anyone to crush your dreams.
Eighth Reason for this: You are in control of your fate and should not let others guide you into doing work you are not comfortable doing. It is important to be your own individual.
You have learned why you should not let other people's opinions affect your career choice.
