For 10 long years I worked online using only windows operation systems. I used the virus protection software that came with the unit, but you still had to pay. This always seemed sort of suspicious to me. You buy a computer but you still have to pay to keep it virus free. Just by coincidence the units come with the software that keeps the viruses off of them. Wow what a deal. But I payed and payed for the virus guard updates. Oh by the way I still got viruses even though I updated the software and ran the virus guard every day. I lost hard drives to the viruses and plenty of data that was backed up with viruses.
One day I remembered what my father had said. Mac is the best, He didn't have a computer but enjoyed reading all about Apple and their superior machines and operating systems. So finally I went to the store and found an IMAC for around $1000.00. My machine has a dual operating system that allows you to run windows if you wish. You would still have to run a virus guard if you run windows OS. I did not enable this feature. Sometimes I wish I could run a few windows applications but then I remember how many problems I have had with every windows computer I owned. They are not user friendly, most people do not know how to run them because they are always changing the protocols. I spent hours per week just maintaining the systems on all my windows computers. If you have lots of time to spend working on your computer get a windows system.
So if you are thinking of buying a MAC I would highly recommend it. Most people just want to surf the internet and email their friends and mess with their pictures. Mac is perfect for these types of activities. Its is also faster and more stable of a system. Oh and it doesn't get viruses. I really like my MAC and would recommend it to a new or experienced user any day.
