Why Panic and Anxiety Attacks Are Different for Everybody

I never knew what panic attacks or what anxiety attacks were until I actually experienced one myself. I had a few friends who have had gone through them it for years and were medicated. Most my friends or family who experienced these sudden attacks described to me, how it felt it was a sudden intense fear that would sometimes make them stop breathing, to making them feel dizzy, out of control, shake uncontrollably and would last up to twenty minutes. From what I had heard, it was something I didn't wanna experience at all in my life.

That was until months ago, I finally had it happen to me. I had been going through alot of stress in my life and having certain people in my life didn't make it better either. Finally one night, it happened. I couldn't even describe the awful feeling it caused to me, considering I had never experienced this in my entire life. A panic attack or a anxiety attack is sudden intense fear that can cause you to have shortness of breath, shake uncontrollably, make your heart pound so bad it makes you feel like your having a heart attack. When I first had a panic attack, I actually went through all the symptoms, and worse. I couldn't breathe, my heart was pounding so bad, I did feel like I was having a heart attack at first, to I was shaking uncontrollably I couldn't control it at all. My nerves were a wreck, my head started pounding and yes, I even felt I wanted to die. It lasted too long if you ask me, about a good half hour. After I had recovered, I was totally confused, called my mother and she herself had explained it had sounded like a panic attack.

After going through several of them in a week, I ended up going to visit my family doctor. To my horror, I was experiencing panic attacks and anxiety attacks. I was horrified to hear this, considering I had never went through this at all in my life. My doctor explained it was treatable, and with the right medication I would be able to control the attacks. As well, I needed to understand more about panic attacks and what was causing my attacks. Once I discovered what was causing them, I finally was able to remove myself from the situation , and within weeks the panic attacks had subsided quickly. I found that women were more prone to getting panic attacks than men. Doing some research on my own, I found that panic attacks are caused by when you are in stress, or in danger and reacts to natural response in one's body. As for myself, I had always been able to control my stress or any danger I had experienced in my past, until few months ago.

When I felt my life was in danger, and the stress too was greatly, the panic attacks came on. I had figured it would last one time, but once it kept coming back, I knew something wasn't right, and I had to seek medical attention. My doctor explained that panic attacks can be caused by an imbalance of brain chemicals, to living with too much stress for a long period of time as well. As for myself, I had been living with stress for too long, and the panic attacks had started. For other people who experience panic attacks each person can result in different results of symptoms, from fear of crowds, too much stress, health and medical conditions, changing your daily activities too much to people having a fear of leaving their home. As for myself, my attacks were just brought on by too much stress in my daily life and I had the right mind to seek my family doctor to seek help. As far as I'm concerned, I have a lot of understanding of what panic attacks and anxiety attacks are than I did years ago. Experiencing it myself, I hope it never happens again.
