There are many reasons parents like Gymboree clothing for their children. Generally, it has nothing to do with being a name-brand snob. Gymboree is not even really considered high-end, like Lilly Pulitzer or Baby Lulu clothing. Gymboree is "middle of the road", comparable to Baby Gap. So why do parents buy Gymboree clothing?
1. Gymboree clothing makes children look like children. For the most part, Gymboree clothing is not super-revealing and low-rise. The shirts do not boast inappropriate sayings. Some mothers and fathers like their kids to look like children as long as possible, and they are thankful that Gymboree clothing now goes up to a size 12. Gymboree is trendy without looking like mini clothing from the junior's department.
2. Gymboree clothing is higher quality. Some Gymboree buyers will argue with this and say that the quality has gone down from what it used to be. Perhaps it has, but in my experience, it still wears a long time. It can easily be passed down to a second or third child. I have boys, and the Gymboree jeans are great-they don't wear out easily.
3. Gymboree can be affordable. If you disagree, please try shopping at Gymboree when there is a special sale. Often, I have gotten my sons brand new shirts for between $.99-$3.99 an item. This is lower than Wal-Mart. The girl's items may be a little higher, but it is not hard to find a Gymboree dress for $9.99 or less. The trick to being able to afford Gymboree clothing is waiting until it goes on sale.
4. Gymboree clothing boasts complete matching sets. With Gymboree clothing you can get anywhere from five to thirty mix-and-match pieces from the same line. This makes it easy for children to dress themselves. Also, children look adorable when their clothing coordinates from head to toe.
5. Gymboree clothing has good resale value. If you are an eBay seller, you can often sell a complete Gymboree set for more than you paid for it. This is particularly true for the girl's clothing and the layette clothing. This way, your child can wear an outfit for a whole season, and you can then resell the set and actually make money!

Post a CommentI love Gymboree. When I was pregnant with my boy I said I was not going to be a Gymboree snob... But I am. The quality is good and it is cute, much better than I find in other children's stores. I will pay more for their denim shorts or jeans. Up to $15 a pair because they go with everything. They are comfy for my little man. Tshirts I pay from $2-$10. I only buy on sale. I have not done resale of his clothes as I want another baby he always looks great in his Gymboree stuff. I don't attempt to buy everything in a set. I put my child in jeans and tshirts most days. I shop at both the retail and outlet stores for his clothing.
I buy gymboree clothing because I always get great deals on it, and they have the most adorable mix and match outifts. All five of my children wear gymboree clothes, and when they are done with them I resell them and make a lot of my money back sometimes even more. So, with buying them, using them, and reselling them they are paying for themselves and my kids are dressed so cute.
