Why Paris Hilton Should Not Receive a Get Out of Jail Free Card
The first thing to keep in mind is that she was cited for the DUI and then cited twice for driving with a suspended license. While she paid the fines for the DUI she was also given community service which she made no attempt to even start let alone complete. Her actions alone show no remorse whatsoever, and disrespect for the legal system. In some states driving with a suspended license is a felony, so the fact that she was let go to commit this offense a second time after she was cited for driving with a suspended license the first time means she got off pretty lightly.
Another thing that many people may not know is that if she had been anyone else other than who she is the judge who sentenced her to 45 days in jail would have had her taken to jail immediately following sentencing. In other words she would not have been able to walk out of that courtroom, she would have had the cuffs put on right there and she would have been taken to jail. The fact that he gave her until June 5th to get her affairs in order before presenting herself for her jail time was a concession to who she is.
So, for anyone to think that she has somehow been targeted for unfair treatment by police and the legal system doesn't really understand how the legal system works. And her mother's behavior acting as though Paris is just this poor little girl being picked on by the judge and the police is just ridiculous. Just because someone has money and is a celebrity should not make them immune to our laws. My personal opinion is that she has been given every concession possible, and in fact I'm a little miffed that the judge did not have her taken to jail immediately. If it had been you or me standing in that courtroom, that is exactly what would have happened. However, because Paris is famous and because she has money and good lawyers she is able to get treatment that the rest of us would not.
Paris Hilton clearly does not know how lucky she is. She has all these people supporting her, thinking she is not being treated fairly when in fact if it had been any of her fans they would be sitting in jail.
I can't believe all the newscasts talking about the size of her cell, what she'll be eating, and the fact that she will not have access to her cell phone or blackberry, as though these are capital crimes against Paris. Personally, I think it will be good for Paris to spend a month and a half in jail. She should use that time to think about the direction of her life and how she is going to improve it once she gets out. She has no idea how lucky she really is to be born into that kind of money to where she can do or be anything she wants to. Instead of whining about how unfairly she's being treated, she should be thanking her lucky stars for all that money that she had to do exactly nothing to have access to, except being born into the Hilton dynasty.
As for those who are asking for signatures for that petition to send to the Governor, and selling t-shirts saying to Free Paris, count me out. I think she got more than fair treatment considering her crime.

A cop mentioned it to a girl on Cops. The girl was the passenger in a stolen car, and for some reason the cops said that the passenger gets to go home because she has a "Get out of jail free dog". The dog was a German Shephard.

I can't believe this justice system we have! I wonder what would happen if she killed someone in her drunkness! Everyone that is doing time for the same should get out of jail as well. This is an outrage. Media should not pay her one second of time!
I am outrage that the legal system would allow her to leave the prison on "medical" problems. WTF? There is an infirmary there! She already has enough concessions for being "famous" by doing nothing! She got out of jail after "5" days in prison make our legal system a laughing matter to anyone else. She will not learn her lesson at all!
