Why Are People Over 60 Still Working

Angry Man

So my friend tells me he's tired of his job. It's because he says he works with a guy that's 1000 years old. It reality he's 66. He's not a healthy spry 66. He's an "I can barely see or hear 66", and that's my friends help at work and he is mad about that! I felt sorry for him but I had no advice for my friend.

I wanted to know why the hell this old man was out there working with people in their 20's. Shouldn't he be home napping or on vacation? Its just messed up. I think after you turn 60 you should get paid to be old, "Congratulations you made it"! For the crazy 60 year olds you still need to work because who knows what you'd do with the money, but for the ones that bust their ass all their life they need an award. I want a reward when I turn 60, some money and rest. I will deserve it.

I think when you turn 60 you should be enjoying life and living it up. The only thing you should worry about is doctor appointments and vacation plans. I'm not even half of sixty yet but I know when I turn that age I would like some perks. If you worked and obeyed the law by choice until you turn 60 then you're a great citizen and the other citizens should let you retire and enjoy life. Just think around the world if we treated people over 60 extra special how long the life expectancy would go up. People would be excited to turn 60. 60 would be like peoples goal in life.

To sum it up it just angers me that old people have to work. Of course I do not have an answer to fix it but I still have an opinion about it.

I feel sorry for the man you work with. I'm sure it hard for him to feel how much you hate him.
Maybe he works because he loves it and he is not rich. Maybe he is just getting by.
Have some kindness in your heart. Remember the old says about walking in someone
    else's shoes.
