For many of those living in poverty today, the important concerns of education, parenting, family inheritance, and self-motivation are absent throughout their lives. Ultimately, the lives of the poor have been largely impacted through these deficiencies.
One major reason that people suffer from poverty is their lack of a strong education.
People who can not read and write are unable to compete with those that have the necessary skills to live monetarily successful lives. Those who lack these fundamental abilities can not further pursue higher education. In today's society, a higher education is required in order to obtain high-paying occupations.
Without at least a college degree, these unqualified people can not obtain an equal occupation or level of status as those who are professionally trained in a specific field.
The lack of sufficient parenting also heavily impacts those currently deprived of an economically stable life. The inheritance and strong social-economic background of one's family often creates an opportunity for continued success.
Those that are born into poverty have a much more difficult time escaping this lifestyle and climbing to a higher position. In addition, parents also have a large affect on their children's education and behavior. Thus, parents play an important role in the future welfare of their children.
Although many reasons for the poverty today has been influenced by outside, uncontrollable sources such as parenting and education, those living in poverty often lack the self-motivation and responsibility to improve their own lives.
The capitalist system and democracy in America allows each person to determine their future; those who are willing to work hard will in the end better themselves. While the higher class citizens must display a strong work ethic to attain this position, those who end up living in poverty do not show this same motivation and diligence to overcome their hardships and achieve greater economic status in American society.
Each person has the power to break out of poverty, but the effort must be put forth in order to achieve this monetary success.
These larger issues of education, parenting, and personal ambitions all largely impact the current socio-economic system; without a strong sense of these issues, people are subjected to the low end of the American economy.
