Why Are People Posting "I like it on The..." Facebook Status?

A New FB Trend but What Does it Mean!?

Nick Meyer
When something happens on Facebook, it often becomes news overnight, and the new status trend of people posting "I like it on the..." has many people confused and is starting to become more newsworthy.

This situation is very similar to a Facebook status game played last year in January by many people during which a woman's bra color was often posted in their status. For more on what that game was all about, check out this article.

As for the current situation, it actually has a link to the bra color Facebook status game from this past winter as well.

It also has many people scratching their heads and wondering if it could mean something lewd or indecent, but that is not what it means at all in the traditional sense.

So, what does the "I like it on the..." Facebook status trend actually mean and why are people posting it so much?

According to various "answers" sites, it is a simple game used to spread breast cancer awareness on the Internet. The term "I like it on the..." is usually followed by places such couch, floor, wall, or kitchen counter. This often makes for eye-catching statuses because of the potential sexual innuendo involved but in reality it simply means "where you like to place your handbag and/or purse."

Again, the intent of this Facebook status campaign is simply to open a discussion about breast cancer awareness.

For those who are serious about helping in the fight against breast cancer, please be aware that there are numerous ways to prevent it that are not being talked about in the mainstream media.

Vitamin D deficiency is a big problem for many as lack of vitamin D due to sunlight (hence flu season coming in fall when sunlight levels are low, which doesn't give the body a chance to create as much essential vitamin D).

Vitamin D supplementation is believed by many researchers to be a potent weapon in the fight against breast cancer, especially in women of color as illustrated by this eye-opening chart of cancer rates in relation to sunlight exposure thanks to Natural News: http://www.naturalnews.com/Report_Breast_Cancer_Deception_8.html.

In addition, various reports have suggested that breast cancer screenings with radiation could increase the risk of cancer, so those concerned should look into an alternative scan called a thermogram which uses heat instead of radiation.

Of course, eating a healthy, nutritionous diet of organic foods and getting plenty of exercise and sleep are other ways people can prevent breast cancer. So by all means donate to worthy causes but keep prevention in mind as well and try to support other organizations that promote healthy lifestyles with your money as well.

The new "I like it on the..." Facebook status trend of people posting the phrase can be very successful in the fight against breast cancer but people also take steps prevent it from affecting other lives, especially considering the dismal cure rate in the current system.
