Why Do People Want to Keep Up with the Kardashians?

I keep asking myself this question (as much as I hate to admit it) why do I watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians? Season three premiered last Sunday, and it seems that several million viewers tuned in to keep up with the drama and glamour of Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and the rest of the Kardashian's just like me.

Viewers know they are in for a treat when the first episode is titled "Free Khloe" and documents Khloe's three-hour jail sentence for not showing up at a mandated alcohol awareness class after being charged with a DUI. To celebrate Khloe's release from jail, the family celebrates by getting drunk on margaritas.

This week's episode is titled "Kourt's First Cover" since Kourtney finally got her own cover shoot and asked her mother, Kris, to be her manager. Kris, who also manages Kim, goes to San Diego with Kim for a promotional event at a comic book convention and forgets about Kourtney's photo shot. We watched Kourt refuse to talk to her mother and accept her apology for over 20 minutes. The other 5 minutes were about their obsessive compulsive younger brother Rob trying to deal with his new live in girlfriend eating food on his couch and leaving things on the counter.

Non-viewers might be surprised to know that Olympic Champion Bruce Jenner also stars in Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Bruce is married to Kris. Kris was married to Robert Kardashian, O J Simpson's defense lawyer, and they had four children Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob before they divorced.

Bruce, who also had four children from two past marriages, met Kris and they were married within a year and had two more children, Kendall and Kylie. However, the Brady Bunch they are not with DUI arrests, Playboy cover shoots and paparazzi everywhere. If you think your family is dysfunctional, spend 30 minutes with this family on Sunday nights and you soon realize that your family is quite normal.
