Why Do Professing Children of God Frequently Abandon Each Other?

Milton C. Jordan,Sr.
Consider one of the most sobering parables that Jesus taught during His 3.5-year ministry.

"Another parable He put forth to them, saying: 'The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares [aka weeds] among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. so the servants of the owner came and said to Him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares? He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' But He said,'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let's both grow together until the harvest and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, 'First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.'" (Matt. 13:24-30).

Who are the wheat? Who are the tares? How can we know?

You need to know so that disappointment does not overwhelm you when loved ones, friends, etc. notify you that they are abandoning you and the calling God has given you. Remember what Paul wrote to the young pastor, Timothy: "But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra--what persecutions I endured. And out of . . .all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." (2Tim. 3:10-12)

Back to the parable.

Remember, Jesus taught in parables, not to clarify meaning, but to obscure it. Read verses 10-13 of this 13th chapter in Matthew: "And the disciples came and said to Him, 'Why do You speak to them in parables?' He answered and said to them, 'Because it has been give to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. . . Therefore, I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see [they have blind eyes], and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand . . ."

Now, let's go to verse 36: "Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, 'Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.' He answered and said to them: 'He who sows the good seed in the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels [divine messengers] and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness. And will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing an gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to
hear, let him hear."

Consider the points:
  1. Jesus plants the Sons of the kingdom in the world. We do not become the sons of the kingdom by conversion. Rather, we become converted because we are already sons of the kingdom. That's who we are--the US--the sons of the kingdom.
  2. Satan plants his children the world, too, obviously in proximity to the sons of the kingdom, often in our lives as relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.
  3. We all grow together in this world--this age--that is in its final days. Jesus referred to the final days of this age as the time of the harvest.
  4. At that time, today, Jesus declared He would select certain sons of the kingdom to be sent throughout the world with the power to identify the tares--to tell the difference between THEM and US.
On Tuesday night I received another notice of abandonment. "The end has come. I am tired!", a professing child of God wrote to me. Immediately, I consulted God and received a profound revelation.

I published a detailed explanation of this difference at one of my blogs--Enough is enough! Click on the link in for more information.
