Why Progressive Liberals Hate the Tea Party Movement
"Tea Baggers" Bring Out the Worst in Some Liberals
A Progressive Liberal Finally Won
The good news for liberals is all those years spent fighting the establishment finally paid off. A progressive liberal is calling the shots in Washington. George Bush and Dick Cheney are gone, and now elite, educated, savvy liberal Democrats hold the future of our nation in their hands. Everything should be coming up roses, right?
Apparently there is one problem. Progressives like Michael Moore are having a harder time finding projects these days. Moore wants to make financially successful movies about the bad guys, but unfortunately, his peeps are now directing the show. Politicians like Nancy Pelosi continue to reminisce about past grassroots movements, which were somehow more legitimate than the "Astroturf" protests of today. Liberal activist groups across America sit in lonely offices wondering if there is still something, anything they can protest.
The Tea Party and Racist Bigots
Some progressive liberals have publicly called Tea Party groups and members racists, terrorists, violent, bigots, hate-mongers, uneducated, and stupid. However, when compared to the protests of Bill Ayers' Weather Underground group, Tea Party gatherings look like a church picnic. Here's a comment about "tea baggers" posted by a visitor on Michael Moore's website:
"The Tea baggers and the Republican party have shown, they are the true terrorists of our nation. Round them up now."
Hating the Tea Party
So, why do progressive liberals hate the Tea Party so much? The tables have turned. Conservative grassroots groups are protesting perceived injustice, questionable government policies, and possible political corruption - just like their liberal friends used to.

Post a CommentWhere do liberals get off calling conservatives racist? I mean arent a TON of southern state 'democrat' yet continue living in the 50's in their racial attitudes? I do not have any liberal friends. hate em. SIck of em. I have ZERO, i repeat i know NO racist conservatives. PERIOD. EVER.
Liberals have never demonstrated tolerance in my presence. They are name callers and hateful. Liberals are pure puke. And that is being unkind to puke.
Robert you sound so absolutly pathetic a typical igorant liberal pussietard
Well, well those foaming at the mouth, racist Tea Bagger fanatics fared well in the elections. I shall weep copious tears late into the night after I get through REJOICING!!!
Liberals appear to "hate," "insult" and "make fun of" the tea party because it is their nature to respond emotionally rather than factually to any disagreement they have. They have to marginalize all opposition. After all, anyone who does not agree with they who consider themselves so "well-educated" and "informed" must be "crazy," "uneducated" and "uninformed."
It is therefor appropriate in their mind to counter such disagreement with disgusting insults, like calling them a "tea-bagger." The insult has the added benefit to the progressive in that they are able to dismiss themselves from actually having to find out about what the tea-party is really about. Instead, when cornered for specifics (or when voluteering them), they cite things that don't even exist within the movement and frankly, merely more insults, like "bigotry against a black president." I guess it's hard for the progressive to imagine that there is someone out there who thinks in terms of factual argument as opposed t
Liberals are as racist as it gets. They live in white neighborhoods, send their kids to white schools, and work for white companies and they call others racist? They avoid blacks and minorities at every turn. Why don't they move to black neighborhoods and work for black businesses and show us how tolerant they are. They won't last a week. They're hypocrites on race. They segregate in their own lives.
Good job Kim. Seems to me we should all keep up with the candidates of our choice and be open minded about everyone.
oops sorry thought you were referring to the author. apologies
um... snidely... I'm pretty sure teapartiers originally called themselves tea baggers, and this guy just took your side... saying that liberals were being ridiculous trying to attack them...
I've been to some tea party gatherings, and I've never seen or heard anything racist, angry, or irrational. Many of my closest friends are African Americans who share the convictions expressed by tea partiers and they all reassure me of the silliness of the whole racism claim. I wrote an article about the tax day event in Raleigh, it was great.
Nice treatment Kim. As for the commentator on Moore's sight, "Hey, jerk, Here I am. I am a tea bagger. Come round me up. C'mon fat mouth. Put your money where your mouth is." And Mr. Thomas Lane, I don't appreciate being called "tea bagger." So you lament "rational discourse" and call me a tea bagger all in one statement. Mr. Lane, when the first Wednesday of November, 2010 comes I think you will realize you were oh so wrong. And don't try to play nice, like you are willing to talk with me if I behave according to your dicta. Instead you pretend you're all good, but talk trash to me like I am your bitch. Good luck with that. I wouldn't piss on ya if you were on fire. How 'bout them apples?
