I'll admit it. When the news of the Kindle Fire first hit the market, I was skeptical. Sure, I wanted one because it looked like a great tablet, but I was sure I would keep my regular Kindle as an e-reader. When Christmas morning came, and I was surprised with a Kindle Fire from my boyfriend, I couldn't wait to see what the e-reader looked like. To my amazement, I found that I loved it even more than the original and here's why.
It Looks Amazing!
Okay, sure E-Ink is wonderful technology and probably the best option for those that read hours at a time, but for me, I absolutely love how the text looks on the Kindle Fire. It's bright, bold and fully customizable. If you don't like how it looks, you can change the font size, type and even the background color. You can also change the brightness to make it easier to look at in the dark so that it isn't too hard on the eyes.
It's Easier to Use
It's funny that I was sitting on the couch Christmas Eve night frustrated that I hadn't kept up with putting my Kindle books into collections. I now have almost 700 books and it was not easy to organize them once I had so many. While the Kindle Fire doesn't yet allow for users to setup collections (hopefully an update will come soon) searching for books is incredibly easy to do. You just type in the title, author or keyword and the device gives you a list that matches your search terms. You can also easily flip through the beautiful covers of the books until you find one that catches your eye.
It Has Beautiful Pictures
I love seeing all the beautiful artwork of the book covers and inside illustrations on the Kindle Fire. I also love the fact that you can purchase comic books for the Fire. With video playback capabilities, the Fire may open new doors for the comic book industry. Not to mention, if you have children, they will absolutely love how bright and vibrant the story books are.
I know I said that Amazon's Kindle Fire Isn't for Book Lovers, but in a way I stand by that article. The Kindle Fire does not offer glare-free technology and those that spend hours at a time reading may find that the screen strains their eyes. However, for those of us that read casually, it's the best Kindle on the market and a must-have.

Post a CommentWe've been thinking about getting one of these eReaders, but I think since my husband reads LOTS this might not be the best choice. Thanks.
I find it curious the Amazon Fire doesn't use glare free technology. Last month I published my first book on the Kindle (Off Balanced by Zachary Fenell) so it is encouraging to read positive feedback about the new Kindles.
Thanks, I was wondering about this.
