We're all reaching deeper into our pockets these days to fill up our gas tanks. It's a nationwide issue, but these past couple of days, I have begun to see our 'dilemma' in a different light.
With gas prices so high, drivers are much more careful about their individual travel. More people are making an effort to carpool, to conserve unnecessary trips. People are planning ahead to knock out multiple errands in the same area. People are finally utilizing our public transportation system. People are buying cars that use gas more efficiently.
This is not only good for our wallets, but also our environment. We should have been this conservative with our cars all along, watching how much emmissions we put into the air and how much fossil fuel we lazily waste.
Though it is a hardship, I'm glad our gas prices are forcing us to conserve a little more.

Post a CommentThe 2008 gas prices forced me to spend nearly a hundred dollars to learn how to use water as a fuel assistant. In desert areas, that might be a problem.
As much as the gas prices have soared, I have to say it's had a positive effect on us, too. Not only are we conserving money and fuel, but exercising more too. Good article!
