Rush is a Canadian rock trio consisting of lead singer/ bassist/ and keyboardist Geddy Lee, Drummer/ Percussionist Neil Peart and guitarist Alex Lifeson.
Rush has 24 gold records and is forth behind The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Aerosmith for most consecutive gold or platinum records.
Rush has inspired many bands such as Metallica, Primus, The Smashing Pumpkins and Dream Theater.
They have sold over 40 Million Units worldwide, there best selling include 2112, Moving Pictures,
and Chronicles.
Rush has 19 studio albums, 18 with there current lineup composed of Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart and Geddy Lee.
Rush has 3 multi-platinum live dvd's including Rush in Rio, R30, and a compilation called Rush Replay X3.
Rush has some of the greatest musicians in the history of mankind. Neil Peart is often regarded as the greatest drummer of all time, Geddy Lee, in my opinion, is in the top 3 in bass; And Alex Lifeson is a hugely underrated guitarist. Lifeson is also the original member of Rush.
Rush is one of the greatest live bands of all time.
So why are they not in, because the music execs have always had it out for this magical trio. The people who vote for the RRHOF are music execs. Jann Wenner who is the co-founder of Rolling Stone, dislikes Rush, he has a very powerful voice in the choice of who makes the hall and who doesn't, this causes problems year-in, year-out for this band. This is really frustrating for fans of the band; However it has not affected the band's spirit and they have spoken publicly how they think the rock hall is a joke, as a matter of fact, I agree with the band. Rush are looked at by many as idols or gods, it is absurd how a band of this magnitude has not cracked the hall yet.
They folks at the hall need to stop playing favorites and take a real hard look at what many people consider the greatest rock band of all time.
