Why Scott Brown Won the Massachusetts Election

The Massachusetts Miracle- Mystery Revealed

Kristen Anne Harvey
Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown won the vote over Democrat opponent Martha Cokely, for the Massachusetts seat in a special election held Wednesday, Jan 19th, 2009.

But how did a Republican get elected in Massachusetts after 38 years anyway?

It seems that when people do not want to accept that there is a problem- they think it is perfectly rational to make up in their minds some way in which they can blame it on someone else.

I was amazed to hear that Danny Glover thought that the earthquakes in Haiti were caused by Global Warming. Seriously?! Or maybe, me Hearties, it was because Haiti is part of ye ol' dangerous pirate playground- Tortuga. Some of the current population could be the descendants of men who had their hands on cursed pirate treasure... argh. Whatever the case it seems anyone can always figure out how it is the fault of another person, group or agenda.

Was it really the weather? Are you going to tell me that after 38 years a Republican candidate was only elected when the voters of Massachusetts skipped a special vote because it was a bit nippy out??? And Scott Brown thought they actually wanted him in office- go figure.

I think the reason Scott Brown got elected was a bit more straight forward.

I think Massachusetts voters simply made it clear that they were not ok with the status quo. The surprised Obama administration should probably take this as a warning that their Democratic party is not ok with the cover-ups, rampant spending, pet projects and socialized agenda. Maybe they could have turned up the water on the frog all gentle like but Obama has tried to drop the frog in the pot and acts all surprised when it starts to squirm.

Scott Brown offered something that has not been seen in a while- a candidate who offered to keep his office open to the public. He is being seen right now as a voice of reason during this time of reckless legislation.

Never in my memory has our country launched so many course changing initiatives without hardly looking at them or measuring what exactly each change would call for. It seems that our senate is like the sheep following the shepard around without question.

I pray that Scott Brown will stand up in the Senate and ask the hard questions- shoot- asking any questions would be a welcome change.

Congrats Scott Brown- do right by your home state.
