One of the things that drew me to Scentsy is that it is simple. There is a limited product line which reduces the need for me to keep up on so many different products and options for customers. I wanted to really understand and know the product I would be promoting and be passionate about it. I can honestly say I love having my home smell so amazing all the time and it is a very easy thing to talk to others about and get them excited about as well.
Because Scentsy is a relatively new company I knew that I would have more potential to introduce it to people who had not heard of it before. Launched in 2004, Scentsy is still a company that offers a lot of potential for consultants to grow. Unlike many larger MLM companies with great products, Scentsy consultants do not have as much competitions. Scentsy continues to grow and as of this writing has just over 100,000 consultants. Many larger MLMs have well over a million representatives or consultants. Personally, I wanted a chance to really make my business succeed.
There is no hard sell with Scentsy. You can make your business what you want it to be. But, ultimately Scentsy boils down (or melts down!) to wax. It is a simple warmer that melts wax and smells great. People either love it or are not interested. This makes it easy to explain to potential customers and easy to let them simply choose fragrances, find a warmer that matches their home decor and place their order. I really enjoy helping people find fragrances they can love! Scentsy really brings back memories for people and connects people. This is what can make a Scentsy party really fun. It's just smelling scents and sharing memories!
Like any work at home business, you get out of your business what you put into it. I treat Scentsy like a business. I carve out a few hours in my day to work on making contacts, booking parties, writing e-mails and updating my website. If you are looking at direct sales as an option for you and as a viable way to be able to stay home with your children or just looking for an additional source of income, my advice is to really research companies. Talk with other consultants and find out how many hours they put into their business and how successful they are. Ask a lot of questions. Ultimately, I sell Scentsy for two reasons. It allows me to make extra income and I get to be available for my two sons. And the latter reason is the most important one for my family. Direct Sales companies make it possible for families like mine to have one parent at home and put more time into things in life that are important.
