Why You Shouldn't Play with an Ouija Board on Halloween Night - or Any Night

Some people like to play with Ouija Boards on Halloween. They figure it is a spooky night, so let's do something spooky and talk to ghosts...right? Well an Ouija Board is really not your best choice if you are interested in speaking with the spirit world.

Let's say you wanted to make some new friends. Would you think it was a great idea to get up at 3:00 a.m. and open your front door in your nightgown and say "Hello! How are you doing? Is there anyone out there that would like to come in and have a little chat with me?" I think you are probably sitting there thinking, uh no. And that's because you never know who is going to be out there at 3:00 a.m. wandering around. Now you could get some friendly neighbor, who just happens to be out walking their dog, but chances are - you would wind up with some pretty weird people.

Using a Ouija board is pretty much doing the same thing. Even when you use the Ouija board, you start by asking "Does anyone want to talk to us?" and that is literally inviting ANY spirit of any type to come and communicate with you. While there are less actually negative spirits out there, there are some spirits of an immature level that may pretend to be someone else until you finally confront them.

Communicating with the spirit world is not some type of a game; it is serious business and needs to be treated with respect. If you are interested in communicating with someone who has passed over, a great first step can be to see a professional medium. They can make contact and communicate with this person. Sometimes you will be astonished at the details a medium will give you. I once saw a medium that communicated with my grandmother, and was able to give me the nickname that I called my grandmother by. She also gave me a number of personal characteristics that described my grandmother's personality to a "T". I had only given her my grandmother's first name and there was no way she could have researched her (if you are the cynical type) as we have different last names.

If you are interested in communicating with the spirit world on your own, the first step is simply to be more aware of your surroundings. Chances are the people close to your heart are already communicating with you in subtle ways. They may put images into your head of things that you used to do together that remind you of one another. Or they may inspire you to do things. Or they may come to visit you in your dreams.

It is important if you choose to communicate with the spirit world to begin by surrounding yourself with white light of protection. This is done simply by saying some type of prayer or a blessing of any type. Do this any time you wish to communicate with your loved ones. Then simply notice. It may take a day, or even a week to get some type of message, but they are with you and around you always. They are always there.
