Why the Show in the Sky at Rio is One of the Best Free Las Vegas Attractions

The Show in the Sky at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino is considered by many to be one of the best free shows in all of Las Vegas. As a Las Vegas regular, I have to say that is an experience that I enjoy at least once on every trip that I take to Sin City. It makes my list as one of the best free Las Vegas attractions.

First off, for those of you that do not know, The Show in the Sky at Rio is an aerial show that takes place right over part of the casino. Colorful floats are suspended over the casino goers and are stocked with beautiful women that dance to music. While The Show in the Sky at Rio is considered to be a, "sexy," show, it is not too sexual to scare dignified customers away. This makes The Show in the Sky a free Las Vegas attraction that almost everyone can enjoy.

The Show in the Sky at Rio takes place every hour on the hour in the evenings of Thursday through Sunday. The first show starts at seven at night, and the last one is done well after everyone has already passed out in the casino. I do miss the days in which The Show in the Sky at Rio used to run all through the week, but it appears that those days are gone. Sometimes, even the free Las Vegas attractions have to have cutbacks.

If you are daring, you can ride on one of the floats in The Show in the Sky at Rio. While there is a slight, "donation," that is required for this, many will find that it is worth it. The ladies of The Show in the Sky at Rio will give you handfuls of beaded necklaces to whip at unsuspecting people in the crown below. Can you tell that this is one of my favorite parts of the show?

If you have never seen The Show in the Sky at Rio, I suggest that you check it out. If you have seen it, they did recently change the shows. There are now three shows that each have a distinct feel to them. I have seen two of them, and I am still impressed. I just hold on to the hope that the casino management will not make any more cutbacks to The Show in the Sky at Rio. It is one of the best free Las Vegas attractions.
